Cheers Bob, couldn't agree more!

Ive been studying the sculpt, and i think im going to have to move the mouth up, it should be halfway between nose and chin and as hes going to be angry even a little higher. Can't believe i missed that, but its easy enough to correct.

I think it looks ok. We're assuming he's a human here, if he was slightly alien, couldn't they have a different physical make up? Not necessarily identical to homo sapiens?

Just my mad ramblings, feel free to ignore me. After all you're doing a thousand times better than I ever could.

Matt

Okay so did a bit more today, mouth wasn't as much of a butcher job as i thought.

I beefed up the chin, nudged the mouth up slightly and smoothed the nasolabial sulcus, which i think look much better now. And i also roughed out the eyeballs.

Need to neaten up the left eye a bit and then I'll add the upper and lower lids to both and start to work on his scowl.

Feeling pretty pumped today, feels like his face is really starting to come together.

Thanks for looking, more soon :)

Thanks Bob!

I did a little more, neatened up the face a little bit and made his brow more angry.

That looks a lot better. Far more angry and menacing. Wouldn't like to get on his wrong side!

Thanks dude, yeah he's looking tough enough for space adventuring now!

That is one angery looking face, looking better and better with every little tweek.

Cheers bud! I've found thats the best way to approach sculpting, as a constant process of tweaking, if you look back to where the face started its worlds apart now.

Okay so I think one thing that hasn't helped the eye progress is i think my sockets are too big so ive beefed up the cheek structure below it.

Next I'll have another crack at the upper and lower lids.

Well more eye work was done today, it still needs tidying up, but considering this was the bit i had the most trepidations about im pretty pleased.

Next up I'll tweak and neaten them before having a go at the ears.

Thanks for looking, more soon :)

Spent my lunch break tweaking the eyes and cheek structure, also bent his head further forward to get his line of sight to where he's shooting.

Question for you: How do you clean up the burrs and tooling marks without damaging the details? Is it like Miliput or traditional clay where you can use water to smooth things?
