nobbyyam
Just wondering of peoples thoughts on what is the best Gladiator kit on the market. Scale is not important to me
Richard B.
I've built the Roden 1/48 kit and found it very good. the only downside is the engine cowl which is in two pieces making it awkward t put together. The engine cowl is a little soft on detail - the bulges are a little soft. I'v also built the Pyro/Life-Like/Lindberg 1/48 kit which is also very good. On balance, i'd give the nod to the Roden.
nobbyyam
I like to build a wood model alongside a plastic kit of a subject that I'm doing at the same time. Just my way but thanks for that. Heard the Edudard Gladiator is the same as the Roden one
JohnT
If you want to venture up to 1/32 and don't mind resin have a look at Silver Wings Gladiator. Lovely model though it's not cheap. Having their Gladiator, Hart and Bulldog I reckon they are decent value though.
vince14
Silver Wings make one in 1/32, but it's a resin kit rather than plastic. Airfix make one in 1/72 which is very nice.
Spitfire31
Another vote here for the Silver Wings 1:32 Gladiator: http://www.silverwings.pl/gloster-gladiator-mk-i-mk-ii.html It's the only Gladiator kit that I know of that has got the shelves behind the cockpit cover correct… Kind regards, Joachim
Spud
Built the Rodent Sea Gladiator and almost pulled off the rigging without mishap. I think it's a nice kit. I'm sure I bashed out the old Airfix one, back in the day.... probably without paint, just decals!! I guess their new tool kit is slightly better in that scale?!
nobbyyam
Just heard that the club I'm in is having a bring and buy and one of the lads has a Roden Gladiator so I think I will go with that. Thanks for the info gents
wyverns4
1/72 Airfix, (the new one) 1/48 Roden/Eduard, the Eduard box contains all the sprue variations that Roden included in its multiplicity of boxing's, PE, masks and a rather impressive decal sheet that is far superior to any by Roden. 1/32 Silverwings Christian, exiled to africa
