At Sea
Hi, been working on this for the last couple of months when time allows. Pretty much done, built as ZD740 from the Xtradecal set. Used the Revell 1/48 GR.4 kit as the basis. Lots of fun, and very pleased with the result. Misplaced the clear sprue somewhere so no nav lights on the intakes or landing lights but I have 2 clear sprues which will turn up soon. Enjoy. At Sea
Oh, before I forget, CMK undercarriage bays, Humbrol aerosols for colours, Tamiya acrylics for detail, Eduard cockpit for the IDS. The picture I used as inspiration was from Airliners.net but type ZD740 into google and you can see it well enough. Accuracy: The port side back seat ejector seat only has 1 warning triangle because that is what is shown in the picture. The in flight refuelling probe was on this aircraft in the reference pictures. Inaccuracy: The tanks are 2 fins short. There are no walkways on top of the fuselage as after cocking up the first set and then fighting with the second set I gave up. At Sea
Oh! The nose has the annoying crease, I filled it and sanded it back, which looked okay under a matt coat but once I kleared for decals the light playing on the surface shows it. Irritiating but it's only grey plastic!
