Col.
On the Freightdog decal sheet RD805 is in the medium sea grey/black scheme. Richard in NZ Thank you Richard. That scheme is fine by me As Richard in NZ said, the MSG over black scheme. I've seen profiles of aircraft in DG/DSG/PRU Blue but I've yet to see photographic evidence of this scheme - which is a pity as it's my favourite post-War scheme. Wez I've seen the same profiles but also no photographic evidence to justify them. A pity as it's a nice scheme. I've also seen one for an overall silver 45 Sqn. Beaufighter but again not seen any photos to evidence it. From memory that's a post-1950 scheme, so seems a bit late for the Beaufighter. 45 did have some that appear to still have been in the Temperate Sea Scheme - see just at the end of this video: Cool video Dave, thanks for sharing it, the scheme on that last aircraft certainly looks different and rather worn. stevehnz
Must be slipping seeing as I only just spotted this thread, I can see a few in there for me, top of the heap would be a Beau with the 489 sqn markings but without trying hard I can see 3 or 4 more. stevehnz
Some great scheme,s looking forward especially to the new 148 Defiant and P40,no disrespect to the AVG a scheme I love and have done more than a few time's over the year's but come on Airfix be a bit more imaginative with this one I know there are not load's to choose from but it,s been done to death! But they'll sell like hot cakes in the USA with a marking combo like that I shouldn't wonder. Look for some more interesting schemes a bit down the track when they've paid the moulds off. Tempestwulf
Not going to lie, I fangasmed knowing the Mk.X will be a 489 (NZ) Squadron aircraft as I've been looking at making one forever. I'm now convinced someone at Airfix is a kiwi or has roots on Gods Own.
tony.t
Really want to do a Jet Provost T.3 (or three) in 6 FTS markings from RAF Acklington. I guess Xtradecal or another will come to the rescue. Tony
mungo1974
Interesting list...especially interested in the B-17 options.....yet another 91st red tail.....Yawn...Bloody 100th....a smaller yawn... Oh well.. Hopefully the aftermarket guys will step up to the plate. Also would have been nice to see a camouflaged option for those who are wary of NMF....The Douglas/Long Beach factory built 234 B-17G-35-DL's that were fitted with staggered waist windows, the late pumpkin tail turret plus camouflage paint. Didn't take much research on my part to come up with "Thundermug" of Chelveston's 305th BG one of the Douglas built Forts. Maybe one for KitsWorld Decals as it would who for the big 1/32 HK Models kit too. Edited February 1, 2016 by mungo1974

PhantomBigStu
Like the first option in the Heinkel reissue, might be tempted to give it a bash, my luftwaffe shelf is one place where space isn't at a premium

Wez
Having sold my old Frog Whitley a few years ago I'm compelled to buy this boxing for the Coastal Command version. Likewise the Kate, I've heard nothing but praise for this kit but wanted the B5N1 version. Airfix have saved me the trouble of back dating their previous kit. I'll be getting one of these. stevehnz
It means the Spitfire I/IIa kit reissued as a Va using some bits that were already on the sprues but not used for the earlier planes. Steve.

Uncle Dick
Well just got around to opening the Spitfire Mk VA boxing with the Royal Observer Corps markings and the decals really are outstanding! I have 2 suggestions for Airfix: 1. Up scale the decals to 1/48 (does any one know whether the Royal Observer Corps marked Spit decals are made by anyone in 1/48 scale???) and; 2. Start marketing/selling their decals separately.
