Raven Morpheus
Hey all I recently received my copy of this wonderful kit, but I'm wondering a couple of things... 1. Are there any parts in the kit to backdate the Falcon to pre-TFA (i.e. 3 landing struts, round dish), I've had a brief look at the sprues and seen pictures of the sprues but I'm not seeing such parts so I'm wondering if I'm overlooking them. 2. If no to the above are there any aftermarket parts to do that, perhaps made for the Finemolds kit that might be adaptable? TIA
Madmonk
Hi Raven, Unfortunately there are no parts to back date it with the kit. Shapeways do some 3D printed parts, http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=1%2F144+FM+falcon Cheers, Warren
Raven Morpheus
I didn't think so, so many parts to look through though. Thanks for the shapeways link. Edited January 17, 2016 by Raven Morpheus
directorcass
Here's a link directly to Tony's parts for the Bandai Falcon. He makes parts for all the available kits I think, including the big Hasbro toy!! Tony's parts are first class and accurate. I'm using a few of his parts on my own Bandai Falcon. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/308bits?section=Falcon+Banday&s=0
Raven Morpheus
Thanks I found the dish plus mount/assembly. As far as I know that's all a backdate needs to make it an ESB Falcon.
directorcass
That's all you would need that the casual observer would notice. A lot of the sidewall greeblies have been embellished upon, but nothing major. Put a round dish on it and enjoy your ESB Falcon. Now, if you wanted an ANH Falcon, then your talking major surgery to the lower hull!
