Billydick
Nice job indeed for such a small scale. Particularly impressed with the sea base. BillyD

Darby
Always liked the look of the 42's especially when they had their tail up. Internal layout wasn't something I was used to though after being on frigates
Rob 1
Very nicely finished, looks particularly good considering the small 1:700 size.
Bigdave22014
Thanks everyone. Pleased with how the base came out, although after all the time mixing the blue for the base it looks very close to British Rail blue! Oh well. Oh, and a nice touch is that the ship actually comes off the base! Not sure how I managed that..... And the landing circles aren't transfers - had to paint them using masks after the decal came apart!
Bigdave22014
Can anyone confirm whether Sheffield did actually have a Union flag painted on the roof of the bridge during the Falklands war? I've never seen anything to confirm this. Dave
Orion
Hello Dave, Nice setting and very well constructed. Especially, considering the scale.
bootneck
Can anyone confirm whether Sheffield did actually have a Union flag painted on the roof of the bridge during the Falklands war? I've never seen anything to confirm this. Dave No, she didn't. Not relevant to this but I do believe that HMS Coventry had a White Ensign painted on her bridge roof and that is probably where the rumour came from. Head in the clouds.
Nice model, how do you work in such small scale?
Bigdave22014
Very very carefully! Seriously, if you're careful and think things though - such as when to add railings etc.- it's actually easy to do it.
Mark4700
Really nice model. The highlight for me though is the sea, really makes the whole thing stand out. Very nicely done.
cookiezoom
Really impressive piece of work, very fiddly small pieces to work with as I sit here and look at my potential next build of the 1:700 HMS Liverpool. How did you make the sea look so realistic, like it going at 20+ knots.
ShipbuilderMN
I think this is a 42 (they all look the same to me!) Falkland Islands, 1982. Bob Edited October 27, 2016 by ShipbuilderMN Spelling mistake

cookiezoom
I'm really struggling with working at 1/700 scale. Think I'll stick to my 1/12 motorbikes 1/24 cars and 1/8 scale Pocher kits. Many advice greatly appreciated
Jockster
I know just how tiny this model is so kudos to you for such a nice build!
