Tiger331
I am having trouble finding photos of TUDM MiG-29s toting air to air missiles. The majority of photos on the internet have been taken at trade and air shows with the aircraft sporting stores pylons but nothing else. Does anyone know if the Malaysian MiG-29 buy included stocks of Russian air-to-air weapons. I'm planning to build a model sporting two R-73Es but want to make sure this is an accurate fit. Thanks Mark
exdraken
R-27s and R-73s are the most likely air to air weapons for any MiG-29 but the very first ones! only training missiles but these are R-73s (with pylons for R-27s in place for single seaters) http://malaysiamilitarypower.blogspot.co.at/2013/10/rmaf-mig-29n-off-boresight-capability.html links says that it would be a TUDM aircraft, the refueling proble makes it quite plausible: 4x R-73, 2x R-27: http://dsgcreview.blogspot.co.at/2015/03/malaysia-always-monitors-presence-of.html Edited January 2, 2016 by exdraken

Supertom
Now that you mention it, I do find it interesting that I've never seen a Mig-29N with any armament. It almost as if TUDM doesn't want any photos of it with a loadout. That said, scramble.nl says: Armament includes R-27R1 and R-73E1 AAMs, GSh-301 gun. (A 1998) upgrade adds RVV-AE (R-77 AA-12 “Adder”) capability, allied to the Phazotron N019ME radar with twin target BVR potential. aidy
I believe the standard load is a pair of R-27 and a pair of R-73. The outer pylons were usually left off.
