Work on upper surfaces of Shackleton WR977 has now been completed and the scaffolding has been removed; a strategy for under-wing and the remainder of fuselage will be implemented soon!

Further details of the excellent work on WR977 can be found in here!

Everyone at the museum sends a huge thank you to #WR977PaintingTeam for completing the first part of this work in 12 weeks & 1 hour (don’t ask!) – more updates shortly!!

RAF Balderton

Earlier today we launched an appeal relating to RAF Balderton in Nottinghamshire.

We are looking for information for a book that we hope to publish and details about what we are looking for can be found in here.

One specific request is detailed as follows: “At the moment we have a particular request for assistance in trying to locate the family of Ray Searle (author of 9J the story of a Squadron) – we understand that his son in called Richard and his daughter was Jill.”
