CliffB
It may be an 'old trick' to use metal for the trailing edge, but it's new to me! Thanks for sharing Cliff
whitestar12chris
Very nice, i remember seeing a photo of something similar sat astride a larger flying boat in a 1935 book i have. Will watch with interest. All the best Chris

JOCKNEY
Hi Alexey Thanks for the update, I must admit adding the foam to the floats for additional buoyancy is amazing..... On a more serious note, the spar in the picture to support the wings, is this part of the kit or your own design ? The metal trailing edges is a great idea, let me know if you need someone to help you empty the cans before you use the metal. Pin
The propellers have arrived - thank you John! Root wing profiles Some small gaps to close - not a big deal Cheeese! I did a mistake - sprayed activator while my super glue tube was not close - all gone, nice and solid inside the tube. Need to visit nearest HomeBase to get some

Pin
Closing the gaps with plasticard and two component putty A little trick - covered fuselage with masking tape and then squeezed a lot of two component putty into the gap Once putty cured detached the wing from the body with masking paper and sanded to form fairings Port wing fairing is not yet given a shape
JOCKNEY
Hi Alexey Great progress, I had no idea, the wing profile were so inaccurate to need all this work. I have only ever seen one of these built before, so good luck with the rest of the build, it's certainty putting up a fight ! Cheers Pat

Pin
It took longer than usual for the rubber to cure but eventually I was able to produce the first mould. It was spoiled though - too big bubble caverns. On the background - floats ready for scribing. The following mould was much better - I added some surface detailing. Now I need three more copies

Norman
I am loving your work ! It is sooooooo refreshing to see actual modelling, difficult and sometimes not pretty but a true documentary on how an imagined item becomes reality, with patience, perseverance and skill, that's modelling in my view, how many models of this subject has any of us seen at model shows ? Very different to the micro measuring experts who rubbish everything and when they do build a kit they tend to turn a simple project into grande ego enhancing chest banging and boring thread that appear on this forum from time to time, This is not one of those, Can't wait to see more
Pin
Hm. My previous post magically disappeared. Sanding, priming, scribing, rivetting - over and over again - boredom!
Col.
Tedious and repetitive work perhaps but well worth it for such a fine smooth and detailed finish Alexey.
