adrianm2
G`day Gals and Lads Trying to get something finish before the year ends. Here is my take on the VVA-14 from Modelsvit. The floats were scratch, using a solid plastic rod, plastic strips around them and resin cones for the ends, trying to present a different configuration of this fascinating machine. All the painting was done with Vallejo, from primer to clear coats. When the clear coat was drying somebody I love left a window open in the stash (aka the garage). A possum got in and the model fell from a shelf to almost a complete destruction... I spent a couple of days tidying up the garage and put the build aside for 3 months. Over the last week I have worked to recover the kit... I was more like building a puzzle than a kit... Anyways, I put it together and when it was time to put the decals on, they disintegrated! Bugger! I did what I could to save them. Lost only a couple of them in the end. As you can imagine, I just wanted to call it done. May work later to fix the silvering in the decals. I hope you like it. C&C welcome and appreciated. Adrian

AdrianMF
Wow! My cool-o-meter just went off the scale! Looks fantastic even after all your trials and tribulations. I hope it's sitting proudly on a shelf somewhere next to a stuffed possum! Regards, Adrian

Flankerman
Nice one Adrian Apart from mine, yours is the only one I have seen completed. I built mine on its wheels with the floats retracted - OOB........ .......but I made a second version with 12 lift engines and inflated floats - just as Roberto Bartini originally designed it.... My floats were 3D printed by a friend - it's supposed to be hovering, using its dipping sonar as an ASW platform. Ken
Learstang
Great job on a truly bizarre-looking contraption! Yours look great also, Ken. Mr. Bartini would be proud of both of you! This is an aeroplane that would not have looked out of place in 'Thunderbirds'. Regards, Jason

MikeW
Now that is an interesting looking thingy ma jig. Sorry to hear about the possum. In my neck of the woods it is raccoons that bring destruction on a biblical scale - but so far, no models lost. Cheers, Mike
adrianm2
Thank you Gents for your kind words. It belongs to the Thunderbirds indeed. That is so cool! How big is it? I`ll try to get a picture of it next to a well known aircraft tomorrow... It is pretty big. Adrian

adrianm2
That is so cool! How big is it? Ken got it cover but just in case you are wondering how big the SU-30MKI is... You can see a The airfix FRS1 seating comfortably under the wing of the VVA-14. Adrian
