For our 1/32 scale F-111 project, we are receiving assistance from experts that are highly knowledgeable in terms of technical properties of the aircraft and we commenced some discussions. We began to collect necessary information prior to design and we will start our F-111 project when the time comes. They advised us to make A and E versions for the first box.

It would be wise for Tanmodel to talk less and do more, there is not a single kit manufacturer today that would be able to produce in short or mid term their so called " future releses ".

Producing 1/32 F-111 is huge undertaking on its own, not mentioning other "projects" that they are "planning".

I have nothing against Tanmodel and wish they truely produce many nice kits, but to announce such big number of extremely complex

kits to be released is more than diletantism and I would say that someone at Tan has poor sense of humour.

Some not nice sentiments here. They are a newish company finding their feet so lets welcome them along and see how it goes before slagging them off and dooming them to oblivion.

They suffered a false start with their F-5 plans a while ago and a new beginning with their 1.72 Turkish Trainer. Now the 1/48 RF-84 should be with us soon. We all know its a bit later than planned but things happen in business to push releases back. You only have to look at Revel and their AEW Shack to see how things can slip.

To quote one of my favourite films, less of the negative waves please.

To those that have doubts,... They havent asked for your money or any input or effort from you, worst case scenario, ignore it, there isnt one available now and if they dont get round to it, there still wont be one available, so nothing will change......

On the other hand, perhaps in 2 years time there might be a nice kit of a 1/32 F 111 to buy.....

They are new and we need all the new we can get, positive thoughts and posts might egg them on...

Everbody is entitled to its own opinion,a serious company would not make such statements, as said before I am all for Tanmodel producing each and every model they announced, but anyone who ever had the opportunity to work on creating a model kit will know that such release list is simply not realistic even for old names in the business, not to use harsher words.

Tanmodel is a public entity and as such is certainly capable of taking both positive and negative criticism, if not than

they are in wrong business.

I think you will find Tanmodel are a serious company. They are only talking research at this stage so I would envisage a kit is a way off yet.

Nothing wrong with companies letting us know what there plans are, after all as Mark pointed out they are not asking for any one to stump any money up.

a 1/32 scale F-111!!!

wow!

If they do the shape and detail right and not over complicated (ak Hobby Boss somehow did and more or less failed with their 1/48 versions ) I could see some potential there!

there are quite some fans and specialists of the F-111 out there!

Do you really think it is necessary to place this comment? Just be glad a company like Tanmodel takes on this challenge of providing such a kit in the first place. I praise them for their efforts even if they don't make it.

We are so lucky to be able to follow these great projects from the beginning. This only provides us with the opportunity to make recommendations which will maybe be heard. If I were a manufacturer which takes up this kind of challenge I would appreciate all help I could get, especially from the (often overly critical) customers.

Imo it is all about which angle we choose to take.

I say: Go Tanmodel, go!

All the best,

Jeroen

Another " shut up and be thankful that we are getting xy" comment, without even reading properly what I wrote. Firstly I wont be thankful to any manufacturer for

producing anything, be it car, milk or scale model...they are not doing it for altruistic purposes, but to make money- and have every right to do so.

Secondly, my comment reflected their unchecked enthusiasm for announcing highly complex kits in large numbers, compare that to any known manufacturer

even those that received huge subsidies-no way!

Someone is simply enjoying boosting interest in a non formal way that leaves enough space for the info to be forgotten or withdrawn at a later date.

Hope they prove me wrong....

Hello Thomas,

Re your 'shut up and be thankful' statement, if you feel this in that way then this is all your interpretation because this is not what I mean to say.

I am just saying that I think it's not useful to start your 'comments' even before the drawings have even been made. They look to be made to envoke a discussion and you know what? It does... Discussions can be useful when used in a positive way.

And yes, you could be more grateful. In any case of having an expectation is a chance of getting disappointed. We all have to deal with it in life.

I wish Tanmodel a lot of luck on their voyage.

And Phil; Great statement!
