JackG
This is the Airfix new tool 109E-4 in 72nd scale. Exhaust are a resin product from Quickboost, along with machined brass guns from Master. No swastikas were provided on the decal sheet, so only stencils and wing crosses were used. Remainder of the markings were from other sources, plus some home made decals for the JG 26 emblem (gothic 'S' on white shield). regards, Jack

bryanm
If it wasn't on a stand, I wouldn't have known it was a model!

dubster72
You sure that's not actually 1/48? Brilliant work, a very fine 109 Cheers Patrick

JackG
Thank you parabat, batcode, Stew, bryanm, Joachim, Patrick, and stevej60. Display stand was cobbled from a Tamiya box. Would of tried a shot with the prop spinning, but had trouble with it's construction - liquid cement spread too quickly, and pretty much fused the area solid. regards, Jack
MikeR
Looks good! Mike.
Nick Millman
Bootiful painting and colours - absolutely convincing - could easily pass for 1/48th or even 1/32nd. Nick

JackG
Thank you Mike, Nick, PlaStix, and woody37. So took a shot at removing the display stand, added a background photo, and taught myself how to photo shop a reasonable prop blur: regards, Jack Edited December 24, 2015 by JackG
Winenut
WOW!!!! I love seeing a kit displayed in flying mode on a stand. I might do it for an Academy 1/72 P-47 Thunderbolt I have......save having to cut down the undercarriage legs which is a known fault and a lot of fiddling about!!! Cheers

JackG
Thank you Winenut, Duncan B, Vince1159, Mitch K, sdk_uk, and Andy Dyck. Lovely paint job and photography, very well done. Which paints did you use? Duncan B I used some quite old acrylic paints, and I don't think they are available anymore - but perhaps under a different name brand? Anyhow, they were Aircraft Colors made in Spain (Vallejo ?) for The Color of Eagles Inc. in Miamai Florida. This was RLM 65 and RLM 71 in eye dropper type plastic bottles, and the labeling also indicated they were toned down. The other two main colours, RLM 70 and RLM 02, were in glass bottles and were labelled Warbird Colors Aeromaster. The identification markings were yellow RLM 04 from Life Color, but I did place a red wash over it for a stronger hue. regards, Jack
