John R
I'm building one of these, it hgas a resin cockpit, and there is no information in the kit about the need for nose weight. Lashing up to find a balance point is going to be a bit difficult as the rear fuselage is a separate item so I wondered if anybody had built one and if they could tell me how much to use. I have searched but can't find any 'build' articles. Edited December 29, 2015 by John R
JamesP
I've no idea of the weight I used, but just fill the nose. If it's not enough then you've done all you can. However I did have help in that I used Aeroclub's white metal undercarriage.
neilh
What I usually do is use a combination of tape and blue tac to hold the main parts together and then try the balance by sticking my fingers into the U/C bays ( or you can try blue tac blobs and cut down cocktail sticks. You don't need to plug in tailplanes etc, just tape them in the general area. Don't forget to tape any underwing stores to the wings as large fuel tanks and the like can have an effect on the tipping point.
John R
JamesP - There ain't no room in the nose. It's all filled up with resin cockpit exept for the teeny nosewheel bay. neilh - That's what I usually do but with this parts breakdown it's a bit more hassle and I can't do it just now as some work is being done installing intake guide vanes so I wondered if someone could save me the trouble. Thank you both
Don McIntyre
Will weight fit behind the aft cockpit bulkhead?
John R
Yes, there is room for quite a lot

Looking back http://gregers.fr.yuku.com/topic/10741I didn't have a resin cockpit as I did the MPM issue and I also made use of an Aeroclub white metal seat whose weight let's say outweighs the detail of more modern resin accessories. -Neu-
So I built the SH kit about five years ago. I had to read what I wrote back then and look at the photos but I can't find any reference to adding any weight. I also have the MPM version in my stash and I'll take a look what it says, but I don't think it required any weight. I think if you add a bit to the front cavity that will be sufficient. While this photo is a bit blurry, you can see I didn't add any weight to the front of the aircraft. Good luck and post some picture of your build. Whisky Papa
The Classic Airframes version needs 10g (-.5 oz.) of nose weight right behind the front wheel bay (the instructions say). WP
John R
Thank you all. Due to the resin cockpit the only space in this version is behind the cockpit. The lash-up indicates a need for about 6gm in that position so that has been put in with a lump of Milliput to keep it quiet. John
