Homebee
Not in the new Trumpeter's catalogue but in the IPMS Philippines homepage. Trumpeter is to release in 2016 2020 a 1/48th Chengdu J-20 kit - ref 05811 To put alongside the Hobby Boss 1/48th YF-23 kit, I suppose? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234934034-148-northrop-yf-23-black-widow-by-hobby-boss-released Source: http://ipmsphilippines.com/test-shots/testshot-trumpeter-148th-chinese-stealth-jet-j-20/ V.P. Stephen
Some What-if possibilities there.
Supertom
The sprues look quite similar in layout to the 1/72 kit. They must have scaled it up, cleaned up the enlargement, and went "hey, we have all this space to put extra stuff in!" and added the weapon bay doors (the 1/72 kit doesn't open up). exdraken
definitely interested! I have the Hobbyboss YF-23 (plus Caracal declas) and the hph T-50 models.. to be built... so.....

foxmulder
Trumpeter/Hobbyboss is so lazy... They should have come up with a J-20 at Kinetic su-33 quality right now:

Homebee
It's me or the sprues displayed in the former - and now unavailable - IPMS Philippines homepage look really like those of the new Trumpeter's 1/72nd J-20 kit? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234971312-172-chengdu-j-20-mighty-dragon-new-variant-by-trumpeter-released/&do=findComment&comment=2468146 In my opinion, the mention "1/48th scale" is an error... My two cents. For the record there's a 1/48th J-20 resin kit in the Anigrand catalog: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234971841-148-chengdu-j-20-resin-kit-by-anigrand-released/ V.P. foxmulder
Lol, that might have been indeed the case.. We have now double digits number of J-20s around with LRIP is going on. There is a windfall of pictures which got me excited. I really hope Trumpeter/Hobbyboss (or some other company) come up with a current cutting edge model of this plane. From some angles it is a real looker.
salomon
No any news for this exotic aircraft's kit? I'm waiting for it about two years.
DIO
Funny! They had a test build two years ago and still not in the market... I guess they just changed priorities.

paulsbrown
So it's back again. Although I'd happily have this as I like prototypes in this case I would hope the camouflaged production version.

GRIM REAPER
The Tu-22 is a big plane itself in 1/72. So, kinda comparing the size of the two, it looks like 1/48 to me. Though, I could be completely wrong on that.
general melchett
Quote Though, I could be completely wrong on that. No, that's definitely 1/48th. I've been looking forward to this one for quite a while...good to see it's appearance at the show.
