PlaStix
I had a pretty similar year to last year in terms of quantity - certainly not as many as some people manage to get finished on Britmodeller. Same as last year all my builds, up until the Centurion I'm building for the Vietnam GB, have been painted with good old hairy sticks. The Centurion, because I started it late into the GB and thought I would struggle for time, I decided to paint by rattle-can. The Centurion is finally finished and posted at the bottom of this post. First up is the vignette I made for the 1/72 Airfix Tiger 1. I Finished the tank itself at the end of 2013 but it took me until May to finally sort out the vignette: RIF here. 1/76 Airfix Cromwell IV: I took a photo of the Cromwell with a 20 pence piece, before it was finished, just to show how small it actually is: RFI here WIP here 1/72 Dragon King Tiger No.333 - PzKpfw SdKfz 182 Ausf.B w/Zimmerit As with the Cromwell IV I took a photo of the King Tiger before it was finished with a 20 pence piece: 1/72 Dragon Tiger 1 No.112 - Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.E Tiger 1 late w/Zimmerit And with a 20 pence piece: The above two tanks were built as part of the Achtung Panzer GB and I made a small base to display them on: The RFI for the above two Tigers and the vignette can be found here. I also tried making my first 1/35 AFV kit during the Achtung Panzer GB - Tamiya's 1/35 Panzer Kampfwagen II Ausf. F/G: RFI here. WIP here I realised when I was sorting out stuff for this post that I'd never got around to posting any RFIs for two of my Achtung Panzer GB builds - Hobby Boss's 1/48 U.S. M4A3 (76)W: WIP here. Skybow 1/48 Tiger 1 - Late Production w/Zimmerit WIP here. I designed the individual bases so I could do this with them when on display: It will probably come as no surprise that I made a few Spitfires as well - 1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk.Vb (new tool) 1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.Vb The WIP for both these two Vbs can be found here. Tamiya's New(ish) 1/48 Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf.E/F: .....and with a 10 pence piece: RFI here. WIP here. .....and two more Spitfires - these were built for the Battle of Britain Group Build. 1/48 Tamiya Mk.I Spitfire - "Spitfire Scramble": A video showing the prop working can be found here. 1/48 Airfix Mk.I Spitfire (new tool) - "Spitfire Re-Arming" The RFI and WIP for both of these can be found here: RFI WIP I've finally managed to get my last finish of the year posted - It's the 1/35 AFV Club Australian Centurion Mk.5/1 I built for the Vietnam II GB: The WIP can be found here and the RFI here. I would like to take this opportunity to thank again anyone who has commented on my builds during 2015. None of them would be what they are without the guidance, suggestions and support from fellow Britmodellers. Thank you. Kind regards, Stix Edited January 8, 2016 by PlaStix

MikeW
Outstanding work indeed. The weathering /rust /mud on those tanks is superb. Nicely resented and photographed too - the tufts of grass sticking through the apron under the Spitfire add so much - I'm always impressed with the small details people take the time to add. Really enjoyed viewing these. Cheers, Mike

giemme
Great works all round, in terms of painting, display and photography! I know nothing about AFV, but to me it looks like you've achieved an outstanding level of finishing and weathering. Not to mention figures! I know you're an excellent brush painter, but seeing all your models at the same time just made me go PS: your thread title says "2016"
Cookenbacher
What a year's output Stix! I really enjoy being able to see all of these in one place. Your foray into tanks has really opened the eyes of some of us 'airplane' guys.
AndyC
I just refuse to believe the finish on those small AFV's - wonderful work. Also a big mention for your figure painting - top drawer!

Your foray into tanks has really opened the eyes of some of us 'airplane' guys.Hi Cookie. Thank you for your very kind comments. The foray into tanks wasn't really expected on my part. I was only going to build the one 1/72 Panther for my D-Day GB diorama (with the Typhoon) but found I enjoyed it so much (much more than I thought I would) that I built the Tiger 1 to go with it and the rest was history. I'd been bitten by the AFV bug! I'm still into Spitfires - got several planned - plus I'm going to try my hand at some other aircraft next year too. I've got more tank builds planned as well, including some Russian ones.I just refuse to believe the finish on those small AFV's - wonderful work. Also a big mention for your figure painting - top drawer!Thank you very much Andy, you are very kind.A great collection of armour and a couple of superb Spitfires, including the excellent Spitfire that won first place in the Battle of Britain Group Build. Will Vale
Great stuff, I like the low level photography with the backgrounds. Maybe the two Tigers are my fave overall but it's hard to pick. Will
