sroubos
Whoa... Bearcat 1/72? Is that a new tooling? Probably a misprint, it matches the boxnumber on the 48th scale rerelease at the top of the post. Edited January 10, 2016 by sroubos

Probably a misprint, it matches the boxnumber on the 48th scale rerelease at the top of the post. Bummer - I was hoping for a new tooled 1/72 kit. I think your correct in suggesting that it's just the old 1/48 model with new decals.. Cheers .. Dave.
AlCZ
Hmmm, where is F-4E ? :/ Maybe later ? British Apache is nice - i presumed decals for "Royal Mount" wich was piloted by prince Harry.

Wez
Tell me about the Bearcat. Is it a new tool or is it a re-pop of their earlier kit which was itself, IIRC, a re-pop of the Hobbycraft kit? Or is it a re-pop of the Hobby Boss kit? I have little knowledge of 1/48th Bearcat kits but a hankering to make a French Indo-China based aircraft. Caerbannog
Looks like the old Academy Bearcat with new decals to me. The cowling is a bit off and replacement should be taken into consideration. There were some detail and correction sets available for this but some are long OOP (Cutting Edge did a cowl, tail and folding wings - maybe more). Lone Star does cowling, wheel wells, cockpit, wing fold, wheels but will tear a deep hole in your wallet if you buy them all (I am not sure they are for the Testors Bearcat - and if this is any different from the Academy one). Heritage Aviation (Kits for Cash) does the cowling but they are marked as "clear out sale".

I'm not sure I want to shell out for all that extra resin, might give this one a miss then. Wez
Caerbannog
René, Many thanks for the quick response. I'm not sure I want to shell out for all that extra resin, might give this one a miss then. Wez Wez it is not a new tool kit and not in a league with the new Airfix kits for example. The cowling is really off and should be replaced. The cockpit detail is not great but sometimes I wonder why I invest in the cockpit area of my builds as little can be seen in the end... The surface detail of this kit is good INHO and I am sure it build into a good looking kit (with the cowling replaced...). I am not sure how the Hobby Boss Bearcat performs. I am sure I read something bad about it... ;-) René
