Carpo1 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I have been away for a while but keeping busy. These are the 1/12 kits from Bandai. R2 looking a bit worse for wear and 3PO with only a light tarnish overall. The Y-Wing is next onto my bench... it looks a bit more complex that these two! Carpo 12
batcode Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Nice work, great job on the weathering on r2.
Bill_M Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I do like the look of these! -what did you use for the subtle tarnish on 3PO? (I have this one ready to go and have been wondering what would be best to get the kind of look you've achieved here)
Carpo1 Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 Hello Bill - I used a thin wash of Sepia ink - Artist's Spectrum is the brand I used. I may go over him again with a wash made up from Vallejo pigments. He is still a little clean for my liking. Cheers.
Bill_M Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 thanks Carpo.... I'll have to do some experimenting (been away from all this for too long!)
Gimme Shelter Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 a superb pair - real film prop standards - best I've seen so far - grim and dust just makes them feel as real as the sandcrawler settings
Carpo1 Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 Thanks for the kind words. I am really enjoying these Bandai kits. They are really shake and bake models that are so well engineered. Carpo
Zarichta Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Uau, great weathering! Nice job. These Bandai kits are excellent. Best; Edited December 21, 2015 by Zarichta
