Fatboydim
This is the Tamiya 1/48th scale Douglas A-1H Skyraider in What If Fleet Air Arm markings. I added a Eduard Zoom set for the cockpit, Quickboost resin sets for Pylons, Gun Barrels, Boot Cockpit Enclosure and Antennas. An assortment of after market and kit decals all in 1/48th scale were used. The model is painted with Mr Hobby Paint in Extra Dark Sea Grey and Sky. This is the link for the WIP thread Thank you for looking, Joe.
FIGHTS ON
Another superb Skyraider from you Joe. Your choice of markings are a clever idea and probably on the money if the Senior Service had ever operated the -H or -J model of the Skyraider

Orion
Intresting subject. My compliments on this beautiful constructed aircraft. It would have given the Navy an enormous extra punch Indeed, a real winner in the military aircraft industry. A Lockheed topper. Getting the best products of the shelf would have saved millions of pounds/dollars. This was due to politics and the safe guarding of own industries.. These days the slogan is: "We want the best available for the Armed Forces". Other examples: The Sea Hawk against the Skyhawk. Or the Gannet against the same Skyraider AEW. A real winner from the Britisch industry was the Westland Wessex. This reconstructed S-58 helicopter served it's country a lot longer than the original US produced Sikorsky.

doozer1974
Great looking FAA scheme Joe, the fuselage roundel reflected in the glossy surface of the wing is a beautiful shot. Adam
Learstang
The Skyraider does look good in those colours - great job! One of my favourite aeroplanes in perhaps my favourite paint scheme. Regards, Jason P.S. I've mentioned this in another thread but I'd love to see someone go the other way - a Gannet in SEA camouflage! I'd do it if I had the nerve (or skill). BerndM
Beautiful Skyraider ! The perfect and flawless modelling job as always, the what if look is also a nice touch. Why not recovering my messed up Wyvern and bring it into a "Falkland" look or desert camo.
