Mike
Dunno... I thought theirs was to be 1:72? There's an AlphaFlight one in resin, but I haven't got the nerve to do mine yet.
JohnT
I have a vac one and have slowly been adding resin engines , am decals and other accessories borrowed from the am market Maybe I will find the bottle to start it one day even!
crobinsonh
I also have the Alpha flight Sunderland and boy it is big. I do not think this model is available anymore.

Maybe they changed there mind and down scaled it which is a shame , Alpha Flight kit looks nice but can't find it anywhere and as has been said above not aviailable anymore. Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies
I've got the Sanger one. The fuselage halves are different profiles when offered up to each other and the top of the fuselage is shaped like a pitched roof rather than the continuous curve a Sunderland had. It'll be a lot of work to correct.

Guy probably ebay now Guy, though no harm asking in the wanted section, others may have just got one and found it 'too big' though the Aphaflight was certainly not cheap when it was available. http://www.hyperscale.com/2008/reviews/kits/alphaflight4811reviewpb_1.htm $300.... There are a couple of Vacform, Combat and more recently Sanger. a couple of useful threads http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234955876-148-shorts-sunderland/ Sanger and Combat, note links to a build of the Combat kit. plans and discussion on accuracy, has pics of the Sanger and Alphaflight http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234979418-sunderland-mk-lll-plansscale-drawings/ HTH
Admiral Puff
Alphaflight's Sunderland III hasn't been available for yonks. The Special Hobby one is said to be 1:72, but since it's been coming since before Adam was in triangular trousers and still hasn't arrived, we don't know for sure. It is supposed to have been a joint venture with Italeri (they have done the Mk I and the Mk III, Special Hobby is supposed to be doing the Mk V); I just hope that when/if it ever appears it won't have the Italeri panel trenches. This is a shot of the MPM fuselage - hard to say from the photo, if the panel lines are much finer http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234951467-sunderland-mkv-sh72262/ Italeri Kit http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/it/pages/it_1352_parts1.shtml Regards Alan

Guy It was always 1/72nd, unless you know something else from elsewhere? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234928984-172-short-sunderland-mkv-by-special-hobby-sprues-pics-coming-soon/ A 48th Sunderland in injection moulded plastic would be pretty epic and I hate the word epic. Ed Russell
It was always going to be 1/72 and was indeed a joint venture. The venturers parted way way ago. Why bother with a groper scale (1/48) one when you can have blind scale (1/32) http://paperwings.orgfree.com/short/index.htm Just kidding..........

tomprobert
Who's up for converting that to styrene? Peter? No need - John 'Tigger' Wilkes has it in his range. I have it and can too vouch for the fact it's H-U-G-E Tom Edited December 13, 2015 by tomprobert
LDSModeller
No need - John 'Tigger' Wilkes has it in his range. I have it and can too vouch for the fact it's H-U-G-E Tom The Tigger 1/32 Sunderland is nice, and I have oft thought about buying one. Problem is the model is a Mk I/II, you would have to convert the step for a Mk III/V -some real surgery there Maybe one day the Tigger line will include a Mk III/V in 1/32? Radleigh
Shame the Sunderland wasn't a fire bomber in later life, I'd be all over the Tigger vac.... Do love the shape of them!
