Alpha Delta 210
Hi I have just returned from an excellent assignment in Lithuania to observe the Hungarian Air Force participation in the Baltic Air Policing Mission. This was another Centre of Aviation Photography event that afforded us access to all areas of the Lithianian Air Force Base at Šiauliai; as well as the Baltic Air Policing (BAP) detachment of Hungarian Gripens. Here is a photo-essay of a BAP Tango (training) Quick Reaction Alert mission: Thanks for looking.
Parabat
Great adventure! Superb shots once again AD, the Gripen is a superb little fighter and you've captured its sleek lines very well. A beautiful shot indeed is the night time 'reflection' in the puddle. Brilliant.
HOUSTON
Hello Alpha Delta 210. I see that you have produced some really STUNNING and OUTSTANDING photographs again. Love the sun setting photos.....BUT MY favorite has to be the mirror image of the pilot and his 'mount'... the symmetrical image is PURE PERFECTION.. NICE to have you back safe and well.. HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you and everyone..

Latinbear
Wow! A fabulous set of images there and thank you for sharing them. That looks like truly privileged access. Presumably you were specifically asked not to publically identify the pilot(s) concerned hence the black bar across the eyes?

Alpha Delta 210
Thanks for all the kind words. The puddle shot is my favourite, too! @ Latinbear: The Hungarian Air Force Public Affairs Officer made three requests: Don't identify the pilots Don't take pictures of cockpits Don't take pictures of missile serial numbers
geedubelyer
Cripes! What an awesome set of images. Certainlyup to your usual high standards AD. Thanks for taking the time to share these it's a pleasure to see them. Love the Gripen from the above angle. Is is possible to call a jet fighter aircraft "dainty" ?

Alpha Delta 210
Thanks F-32. I must confess that it was pretty exciting to witness the QRA scrambles, even though they were training sorties!

Supertom
Photo #9, the one with the crew and pilot running towards the hanger with the wet tarmac is fantastic! I've also never seen hangars like these before. Are these some kind of new generation non-hardened hangar, or is it unique to Lithuania?
Alpha Delta 210
Thanks guys. I'm pleased you liked the pictures. The pilot and groundcrew shot is one of my favourites, too. I think that I do have some other Gripen shots lurking in the depths of my hard drives! I don't know anything about the hangars, I'm afraid.
