This is a superb build. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm a firm devotee of Monogram kits, and their Thunderchiefs - like this Voodoo - are a real treat.

Hello,Uncle Tadhg - Many thanks for your very kind reply and interest. Many colleagues on the Forum talk of their 'Shelf of Doom'.Well,I've had this kit for so long that 'Tomb of Doom' would be more appropriate in this case.Whether it's Monogram Magic or Voodoo Magic I'm not sure but its certainly cast a spell over me somewhat! ;) I'm trying to do her justice. All the very best,Paul.

Looking really good Paul getting close to the finish line , the intake FOD covers do add colour.

Will look forward to seeing it with the decals applied .

Guyl'

Hello,Guy - Thank you ever so much.I'm really looking forward to getting her to 'Roll-Out on the Ramp' as well!! :D If all concludes okay with the build,I may adorn her with a scratch built Cockpit Ladder.First things first though! All the very best,Paul.

Hi Paul,

The Voodoo turned out very good. I like the FOD covers you have made that added some extra color to the grey. Good choice.

Jan Remco

Hello,Jan - Thank you very much as always.I made the FOD Covers from plasticard.Easy and quick to make.I've always liked little details like that wherever practicable. All the very best,Paul.

Hello,Friends -.A little more progress. The airbrake and flap interiors have received their red colour and the jet pipe area has received its basic overall metallic finish. This is Humbrol Aluminium Metalcote with just a little black added. The undercarriage items have been painted in the original shade of this paint. The canopy sections are the next items for attention. All the very best,Paul.

Hi Paul, very nice with the red airbrakes. It brakesmthe otherwise grey aircraft.

The Voodoo is looking better and better.

Jan Remco

Hello,Jan - As always,it's good to hear from you.Thank you for your kind reply and I'm pleased you like the way she's starting to look.Since the latest photo was posted I've painted the tyres (Revell 9). I'm focussing on the Jet Pipe Area and Canopy Sections now.(Dreadfully) slowly but surely, the build is getting towards that long awaited phase of decalling.

I'll take this opportunity to apologise to your Goodself and all followers of this WIP for what I feel has been a long and drawn out effort.I love this model and want to see her fully completed asap. ;) All the very best,Paul.

Coming along nicely, I'm building the 1/72 kit, it's such an iconic aeroplane of the age

That's looking really good now Paul, not long 'till the finish line.I'm looking forwerd to seeing how you tackle the canopy and windshield. Keep up the good work,we appreciate it!

John

Nearly there Paul looking good.

Guy

Hello,Jaime,John,Guy and Forest Fan - Many thanks to each and every one of you for your latest replies. You've given my mojo a great boost which is what I feel I needed..

I'll get her completed and if you gentlemen give her the 'thumbs up' that will be more than good enough for me.

All the very best to you,Paul.

Looks excellent Paul! I dropped into Coventry Air Museum a few weeks back where they have one of these in the static park, it looked huge! Must be a impressive model in 1/48 :)

David

Looking beautiful, Paul

Cheers

Jaime

Does look nice Paul

Guy

Hello- David,Jaime and Guy - My thanks and appreciation as always, gentlemen.David, you raised an interesting point regarding the size of this aircraft,so I quickly took control of some domestic ramp space to photo her alongside her other family members.I hope this gives some idea for you.;) All the very best,Paul.image_zpsragjpopr.jpeg Edited by mcdonnell

She's looking the dog's bits Paul! :coolio:

John

Thanks very much indeed,John. She's getting there. The final main area of attention on the airframe is the NMF in the rear section.A couple of coats of 'Klear' will bring her to readiness for decalling.I'll be working on the Canopy and Windshield parallel to that. :) All the very best,Paul. Thanks for the pic Paul, it is big! Your build is making me think about building one too now :D

Hello,David - You're more than welcome.Long and Lanky might be one way of describing her dimensionally !? ;) If you've got this kit in the stash,or can source one,I think you would enjoy building her.I think that 'Kitty Hawk' is going to release this type, again in 1/48.More up to date with recessed details perhaps but for a lot more money no doubt. The level of detail in the Monogram version more than satisfies my requirements and I cannot recommend it highly enough.Go for it!! :) All the very best,Paul.

Tall too, when stood underneath the tail! I like older kits like these, as long as the shape is good I'm good :) They can usually turn out great with a little work as you are perfectly showing!
