infofrog
The P51D Mustang is finished . Here is the link to m build thread http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234989881-ricks-p-51d-mustang/ The only boob boob I did , was the name of the plane . Amorous Len 3 . I did not know there was to be a Gl and g in front of the name . They were not attach to the name . My lack of experience . So the name stays Amorous Len 3 . I highly recommend this kit . Everything kit great and easily assemble . I will start a new build Tamiya 1/48 scale Focke Wulf Ta183A I will be working on/off on the ch 53 build http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234980374-ricks-ch-53e-super-stallion-148-scale/ Enjoy Rick

Andy Dyck
Hi Rick, This a very superb one. Stunning NMF finish!!! Very nice!. Love it!!! I built this one too, ( as you can see in one of my topics) but in 1/72 scale from Tamiya, on my decal sheet was the complete name Glamorous Glennis! Very curios! But it seems not to be the P-51 from Chuck Yeager. But I can't read the name on the canopy.may be another Pilot flew his plane later on with this Name that is on your Model?? All the best Andy

dhtmo
Looking good! Re the name, I think the general's wife had it copywrited hence the separate decals.

Knight_Flyer
Excellent build and paint finish, very nice weathering too. On the upside at least you won't be at risk of being sued by the Yeager family for copyright infringement of Glamorous Glen
Troy Smith
The only boob boob I did , was the name of the plane . Amorous Len 3 . I did not know there was to be a Gl and g in front of the name . They were not attach to the name . My lack of experience . So the name stays Amorous Len 3 . Looking good! Re the name, I think the general's wife had it copywrited hence the separate decals. the second Mrs Yeager copyrighted it... http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/thread/1315271276/1/Glennis+Not+So+Glamorous- and http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/thread/1310942853 so by making it 'Amorous Len' they get around that, and make Yeager look silly. Build came out really well Rick.

Spitfire31
Very nicely built and finished Mustang, even if the livery is a bit fictional, thanks to that grasping Mrs Yeager‚ ;-) P-51s had a laminar wing profile and to reap the best rewards from the profile, the forward part of the wing needed to be as smooth as possible. So, the panel joints forward of the mainspar were puttied and sanded down, and then painted silver. So, strictly speaking, there should be no visible joint lines forward of the mainspar position. Still, really excellent modelling! Kind regards, Joachim
