Its an absolute monster. It sat on a shelf for three years whilst I located bits for it

IMG_2453_zpsa6804219.jpg

I picked up the Trumpeter kit for the little lads and cracked on with them. I started this when we were deployed in Afghan, so that's the period I decided to model. Dont know if I'd do that now, but we are where we are

IMG_2452_zpsbcb5926c.jpg

photo49_zpsa16b2af1.jpg

still got a lot to do on these lads including mics

IMG_2451_zps0286fea4.jpg

I searched high and low for these and even spoke to the lad who did the originals. I finally located bits in Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. I think they are still out of production sadly as they are good

This is just brilliant.... sheer madness mind you, but just brilliant !!

I could look at those WIP photos for hours as there's some great modelling tips in almost each one.

Gotta love a good Wokka and this ones turning out to be the best I've seen.

Cheers.. Dave

She's playing jelly splash so I may as well get it up to date.

Brass rod and tube purchased.

This gives you an idea of the joyous task of the hangers

The singletons are located right at the back of the heli by the loading bay

IMG_8326_zpsuskuc6he.jpg

took me a week to crack each side. There is a minor gaf to correct

IMG_8455_zpslpg6o8eh.jpg

The straps in front of the windows need bending behind the seats as the windows act as emergency exits

This is hugely impressive! It screams out to be in a diorama setting when it is finished.

Martin

Thanks Martin but its absolutely mahoosive mate. The handful there are posted on the web on various sites have them mostly on posh wooden mounts. I had the mental debate about having either an L118 light gun with a strap fitted ready for pickup and the heli on the ground, or with it touching down and a some lads in an all round defence preparing to move, but the issue is obviously getting the figures as British squaddies in 1/35th are not plentiful and the body armour is too complex to scratch. I do have a 1 tonner which I'd love to suspend from it but the mrs would go ape if I tried to hand it from the ceiling!!

Great work Simmerit!

The seat straps look like on enormous mind numbing task, they'll be worth it once completed though. Really loving the level of detail here, the rear end interior looks really good.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks lads. I hope the exterior paint job does it justice when I get to it - new airbrush that I just cant quite get to grips with....

Mrs out on the raz tonight so hopefully I will break the back the of the other row of seats tonight before she gets in and I get some drunken grief from her about the mess on her table and lovely table cloth getting ruined

Fantastic build and one to follow. Unfortunately your Live Resin door guns are not M60's. They are M240's.

Just checked them and of course you are right. In my dim and distant memory, I seem to recollect its the mounts that caught my eye as they are for the Chinook. Looks like a minor investment required

Thanks for all the compliments lads. She's out on the raz so I'm cracking on with the other seats. I dont now why I didn't think of this before but its such a blinkin easy way of drilling rod....................................................

IMG_8465_zpsap1h67fo.jpg

Bit of masking tape folded over and a pencil dot where the hole is required. The masking tape stops the drill slipping and it also gives you the correct location for the hole. Durgh....

Anyway

IMG_8468_zpszpuo2hub.jpg

took two mins as opposed to an hour...............................

last seat rail

IMG_8469_zpshwzrfrt4.jpg

so before I soldered this, I spent ages telling myself 'dont forget these are opposites. One l/h and one r/h,so they are opposites' yup. Solddrered the supports round the wrong way and only spotted it when the whole thing was done..................

IMG_8471_zpsbqvdv67p.jpg

My trusty pliable errs soon put that right. Onto the three remaining upright supports and I'm done!! nearly three weeks graft (elapsed time) including those hagers
