1:72 Heller MS.500 Criquet **Finished**

Recommended Posts

Well I bet you think that it's a Fieseler Fi 156 Storch. You'd be right, and wrong :)

Immediately after the liberation of France in 1944, the production of Fi 156 at the Morane-Saulnier factory was continued at the request of the Armée de l'Air and designated MS 500. Production continued toll 1965 after some 925 aircraft had been built.

Started this old kit today and after about six hours work got it to this stage.

Great (and super fast) build Mish!

Thank you for not modelling the radial-engined Criquet... Every time I see that contraption I feel ashamed to be remotely connected to France!

The Germans had much better taste!!!

Beautiful build so far

I don't know of a kit of the radial engined version. One has to wonder what effect having a big lump whirling around on a light plane had on the handling characteristics.

Very nice, Mish.

What do you think of the kit?

Should be hard to find, but I see that SMER reboxed it.

For a 20+ year old kit it pretty good, yes it does need some 'engineering' skills and is not for the novice modeller but I'm enjoying building it.

Hi Mish,

the Academy Storch gives the choice between the in line and radial versions. With me, the radial engine has already reached the spares' box, just to avoid my modelling it in a fit of lunacy!!!

I nonetheless believe it is handling pretty well with a radial engine, despite what logic would dictate!

Again, great Storch!

Wow Mish, that's FAST work!!

Fast?? Light speed fast!! Now I really feel like I'm as slow as a snail ... :banghead: It'd have taken me at least 3 weeks to get to that point ...

Not my kind of AC, but she really looks sweet

Thanks all,

Fast, well you're not going to like it when I tell you she's finished.

Will be taking the photos in the next hour or so. :photo:
