Hook
Also: AFAIK Sidewinders were generally only seen on the F-4F's of the two dedicated air defence wings, JG71 "Richthofen" and JG74 "Mölders". Cheers, Andre
Giorgio N
Also: AFAIK Sidewinders were generally only seen on the F-4F's of the two dedicated air defence wings, JG71 "Richthofen" and JG74 "Mölders". Cheers, Andre Even the fighter-bomber wings mantained air defence as secondary mission and often took on QRA duties when for some reason the other units were not available. For this reason it's possible to see Sidewinders under the wings of all Luftwaffe F-4Fs. At the same time when bombs were loaded the missiles could not be used as the Luftwaffe never bought the pylon extensions that the USAF for example used in large numbers Edited November 17, 2015 by Giorgio N
upnorth
Sidewinders only for Luftwaffe Phantoms. As I understand it, they were never wired for Sparrows
