And some extra's

the decals from the Kinetic kit.

IMG_2640_zpsvbbiwlyp.jpg

And some leftover from the kinetic kit that I just found under all the original parts.

After looking at the kit I noticed that the seat was missing it's seatbelts. To get past this I have a spare seat from a quickboost set for a F-5F, but after looking at both I have decided to use it and here is a picture of both.

Left from the kit and right from Quickboost.

That is it for now. Hope to get started tomorrow.

And finally started.

I started with building up the cockpit or how you call it with just six parts. The most time took me to remove all the poorstubs from the resin.

Here are some pictures of what has been done till now.

Here are the parts ready for some paint.

The nice looking instrument panel with the footrudders added.

IMG_2652_zps3cdsq3tc.jpg

And the quickboost seat with the rails on the back removed. The seat isn't totally correct, but looks very nice.

IMG_2651_zpsettt4wot.jpg

And the seat placed in the tub to look for the fit. And the fit is great!!!!

IMG_2650_zpsgh19b9vk.jpg

And a picture of all the parts ready to be painted with gray FS 36320 (Gunze H307).

IMG_2654_zpslxnqmvqm.jpg

And after a coat of NATO black (Tamiya). I forgot to take a picture of the rest,.

IMG_2655_zps0dk7aj5x.jpg

And here are a few pictures after the gray added.

Till now no big difficulties. Will have to wait till the inlets go on etc. I am quit happy with how it is going.

Also placed the wheelbay/airbrake.

Welcome aboard Arnold, its great to have you along.

That model does look nice as well, that was my original choice until I found the Wolfpack version. I like the colour scheme choice.

Well good luck with the build, I see you're already off to a flying start (I do need to make a start myself), and look forward to seeing her in the galley.

Plus congrats on your Telford models, well done.

...ok you jumped in and updated as I was writing.......that cockpit looks great!!!!!! I love the detailing you've done, for me it'll just be an Eduard mask set as I'm a bit lazy/busy!!!

Hi Rich and Craig. thanxs for the comments.

Craig, at the moment I am investing on some new tool Airfix models. I bought the Whitley, Lancaster B.II, 2 dogfight doubles sets (falklands and Pearl Harbour) and 2 x a Gnat in Yellowjacks colours.

O, I normally stay at the overseas section with IPMS Netherlands and also on the SIG AEROBATIC DISPLAY TEAMS.

does anything happen over the xmas/new years period??

I'll be in Germany/Czech Rep/Austria over this period and would love to visit some show or such!

I have had a look around, but in that period it is all quit with shows. The only one I know is in Belgium, but that is on 13 december.

Nice work so far. However, the seat is not correct for Norwegian F-5s. They had the small head rest, not the large one provided with the Quickboost set.

Hi Nils,

Thanxs for the comment. I know it's the wrong seat, but I have nothing to replace it with. The kit seat was almost the same, that's why I swapped it with the Quickboost one. The seat was intended for the F-5E/F.

OK,

Again a update. This will be the last update till next weekend?! I have to work again from tomorrow.

There are some small things I had to do before I could put the wings on.

The first one was a gap between the wheel bay and the rear fuselage. I filled this with a piece of plastic card.

IMG_2670_zps8o4kkwwg.jpg

After this there was also the front wheel bay were ther was also a large gap. I also put some plastic card to correct it. This was the most annoying part of this build.

IMG_2672_zpskymamseh.jpg

IMG_2673_zpsd2ss8cnl.jpg

Also the stabilizers had no tab to connect it to the fuselage. This was standard a but joint. I made a few holes and put some brass tubes in.

IMG_2671_zps9ckajnmw.jpg

There was also to do something about the cannons. This was original only 2 plastic tubes to put on top. I drilled two holes and placed 2 brass tubes as a replacement for the guns.

IMG_2674_zps28niyikr.jpg

IMG_2675_zps6eb3zq06.jpg

That is much better.

Here are two pictures of the inlets that were placed and the seam was quite good to be honest.

IMG_2676_zpsoyke6f8u.jpg

IMG_2677_zpsjd0q6itk.jpg

I think it will just need a bit of Mr surfacer to blend it all in.

And finally the last picture with the wings and stabilizers on.

IMG_2678_zpsr9rxt8sh.jpg

That is it for now.

Great job so far, love the pit. I too plan on building a Norwegian jet so will watch with interest. Will it be an early silver one or latter grey?

David.

Thanks David. The model will be a early silver one.

I hope to do some more work tomorrow in preperation before the paint goes on.

I have seen a few pictures online and it looks like the aircraft were painted a metallic colour. Also I noticed that in the team there are two different size roundels on the intakes. Will have a good look to see witch airframe I am gonna make.

Just done a little bit of work today. I have dipped the canpies in Klear and are drying now.

There are still a few things to do before the paint can go on. I have also decided to close the canopie. The problem with the resin part for it is that it doesn't fit.

I also managed to have a wing in my hand. I glued it on again.

Arrr the lose wing trick! The Meteor tried to do that to me as well, but luckily the lower centre wing section held it all together!

Seeing how for you've gotten reminds me that that i'd better pull my finger out on my build!!

I have made a hud today for it and placed it. This was quite anoying that there wasn't one in the kit. I made mine from some left over resin and some clear sheet cut to fit. I also puttied all the seams that were needed of some filler. I leave it to dry before I do something with it tomorrow.

I will try to put on some pictures tomorrow.

I'm enjoying your build, Arnold. As a matter of fact, I'm using your work photos of the resin seat as reference in making my 72 scale seat harnesses using masking tape and metal bits.

You are doing a splendid job on your model. Guy
