Fairplay I

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the interest

Lifebuoy made from 1mm2 light cable

Heated until red and allowed to cool, this makes it more flexible.

Wrapped around a 3mm diameter drill shank

Cut along the drill length with saw producing rings

Flattened and snugged together before soldering.

Both sides rubbed across abrasive to cause a slight flattening

Hope this helps

Kev

Ok here we are again, sorry for the lack of updates but life, specifically

P1010555%20Copy_zpsijgphvlw.jpg

got in the way. It was hell with temperatures peaking at 28'

I managed to find some photo etch wheels to replace those on the kit W/T doors

Just tacked everything together to see how it was coming together.................

Hi Alex,

We're out there quite a lot, the advantage of having family out there ☺

Been going Los Gigantes / Puerto Santiago for 18 years and never swum off the beach.Lol

I see you have HM Cutter Sherbourne on the bench are you posting the build any where, I'd be interested to see it.

Progress has been sloooooow!

Started on the wheelhouse/cockpit. Large number of windows/frames, looked at masking and decided it was a no go so I set about painting free hand.

The window panes are fairly well defined but I used Humbrol enamels so I could correct any mistakes. Coverage not good as I've kept the paint thin so that it flowed.

Three coats so far of the wood inside, white outside and orange :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I reckon I'm at the point of joining/filling all the pieces and then touch up the paint

That's it for now, thanks for looking in

A Merry Christmas to one and all, I hope Santa is good to you!!

Glad you approve Martin ;-)

Thanks for the thought Jock, its one of the reasons I'm enjoying the build - plenty of ref pics,

Cheers Beefy but you don't see the fights going on in the background. I've lost count of how many times I've been going to throw the wheelhouse in the bin :banghead:

Mainly due to me lack of ability
