pepociufakers
Hi My next model in the series "Yellow wings" - Vought SB2U-1 Vindicator, which released Special Hobby. I build this model in the same time as BT-1, and today I finished. The build thread can be found here -> http://www.pwm.org.pl/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=77766 . And photo session with BT-1. Best regards. jean
Really the best period of US naval aviation in my book! Great planes sporting great paint schemes! You've made a beautiful model and should be proud of it! Everything is looking just right. Just a small query: is the numeral 1 on the wing really supposed to be outside of the chevron? I believe US Navy regulations stipulated that the plane number be displayed between the fuselage and the chevron, as per your BT-1. Just curious about it. I've got the kit but I am too lazy right now to go and check what the notice says!!! Great job! JR

JR Actually, location number of the wing is difference between BT-1 and SB2U: This photo says about SB2U, 2-B-1 And this is specification about number of the wings on BT-1:
jean
I stand corrected and somewhat flummoxed... One never stops learning. Well done again! JR
Sgt.Squarehead
Lovely finish.....Might I suggest applying a little graphite to the gunners MG? It would help pop the detail and make it look a little more metallic.

stevehnz
Very very nice, gosh but the USN planes of that era are bright though, kinda make you eyeballs bleed bright. They do make a very handsome pairing & its good to see the progenitor of the Dauntless in this scheme too. Steve.
