Pappy
G'day Bri! Long time no hear. How is your F-117 coming along then? I am glad that you like my little effort, I am having a ball. It sure isn't the Tamiya kit, but you know what, it goes together great and cost me a fraction of the price, so plenty of modelling bang for buck as far as I am concerned, cheers, Pappy

That's one problem with a 1/32 scale kit. It ain't so tiny! Still hoping to have some custom PE made for it, and struggling madly trying to figure out Adobe Illustrator to create the needed vector files. It's just not my strong suit there. I'll keep following this one with great interest of course! And should you ever pick up the Nighthawk again, I'll be there too cheering wildly from the sidelines! All my very best! Pappy
G'day people,I have painted up the undercarriage bays and installed the undercarriage,Some more PE for the bayStores pylons addedAs well as a heater for the port wingtipand finally the remaining stores,Now that the all the masking has been removed, I can start adding some etch details to the main canopy. The canopy detail is laminated up from several brass overlays that are added to a baseOnce set, I bent up the tabs , to which the canopy locking hook parts are added,I also added these two rails as per my refs, cheers,Pappy

noelbarnes
Fantastic work Pappy. I picked up a 1/48 Has F16 with aftermarket decals off ebay last year for $10 Aus. The guy had a stall at a swap meet that weekend, and I picked up some of his other bargains. He was practically giving them away. Look forward to seeing yours done. Inspirational stuff. Pappy
Very tidy and sharp work. G'day, thanks. I think if your work is messy, it just means there is more stuff to tidy up! G'day noel, I keep saying it, the Has F-16's are great kits, it is just that they have been eclipsed by the big T's efforts of late, but when you can get these cheap they are great value. Very impressive work Pappy! long tie since I saw a Hasegawa F-16 "in progress" looks absolutely top notch! Too long I think. Although surpassed by the Tamiya effort, the Has kit remains a very good alternative, especially when they can be sourced at the right price. I think that if you can get a cheapie, it defrays the cost of aftermarket and provides excellent 'bang for buck' Very interesting F-16 build. I like the attention of detail and the way you the weathering. Thanks very much fellas! Pappy

Erik Leijdens
Can I ask wich PE set you are using? The PE for the main canopy is something I want too. Still very impressed by your work Pappy, my Hase F-16 does not come near yours. Erik

Pappy
G'day people,Decals are now done and it is time to reveal this viper's owner, Wit the canopy masking removed, it was time for some of the final details to be added. As I mentioned earlier, I originally intended this build to be a pole sitter (canopy down), which would mask one of the shortcomings of the Hasegawa kit. The rear cockpit bulkhead should have a small recess in which the canopy motor and various other gubbins live. It is too late to fix this once the fuselage is sealed, but that does not mean some additional detail cannot be added. The kit canopy actuator was installed and various bits and pieces were fabricatedAfter a quick splash of paintSatisfied, the seat was installed. I did have to trim the front of the seat slightly so that it would clear the centre pedestalNow it was time for the small details such as the TAT probe and ground power access doorOnce the small frangible details were done, I decided it would be safe to add the PE HUD,cheers,Pappy Edited November 15, 2015 by Pappy

Pappy
Thanks Brian, G'day people,The tail was finished a while ago, about a year ago.I completed this part first, because if I stuffed up the decals on the tail, there was no point continuing with the rest of the scheme, so the whole build kind of depended on getting that right. The tail has now been attached and she is ready for her beauty shots, cheers,Pappy
Erik Leijdens
Never had guessed it would be a Thai Viper! Always good to see a more exotic Viper. Tail looks very good, hope the fit to the fuselage will be ok. But I think you already figured that out. Erik
