Commando_Cody Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Here's my recently completed LS 1/72 A6M2 Zero 21 kit in captured Nationalist Chinese markings using Techmod decals.I wasn't satisfied with the national insignia from the Techmod sheet so wound up using some from a Blue Rider one. This kit is 1964 vintage but does have recessed panel lines. Despite my best efforts I still wound up with some silvering issues on the tail codes decals. 10
Col. Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 That's certainly a different scheme to the typical few found on most A6m models. Looks good with it.
Commando_Cody Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 Thank you for the kind words.I enjoy the challenge of taking old kits and trying different schemes and markings on them.
tc2324 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I like it. Always good to see a type in unusual makings.
Commando_Cody Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 Thank you! I enjoyed the build despite a few small hiccups. The decal portion of the build went smooth and quick by my standards.
old thumper Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 A very nice build of an unusual and interesting subject. Never heard of LS Models before, but very impressed with them for producing a kit such as this 50 odd years back.
Commando_Cody Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 Thank you for the kind words.LS (to the best of my knowledge) was one of the early Japanese kit makers. Arii wound up with their tooling after they went bust. They also wound up with the tooling from Otaki as well. I remember Otaki producing some very nice 1:48th scale aircraft kits back in the 1970's. 1
