Plastic Licker
Hi All I'm looking at building a desert storm era F-16, as seen below, loaded up with four Mk84's. Am I right in thinking that the inner pair will be on different pylons to the usual ones used with fuel tanks? If so, are the pylons I need identical to the outer ones? Stephen
It's the standard pylons used for fuel tanks as far as I know.
Creepy Pete
The fueltank pylon is usually attached to the tank itself. When using that station for ordnance, the same pylon is used as on station 3 and 7 (the midwing ones)
1903flight
If fact the old Airfix f-16 kit include different pylons for stations 4 & 6 depending if the fuel tanks or weapons are being used. for the 370Gal tanks the pylons are go with the tanks when they are released. Plastic Licker
Thanks for the replies lads, that confirms what I thought. Great photo Pete. I didn't realise the tank pylons came away too, guess it must help from an aerodynamics point of view...
