The only thing I object to about the Airfix one is the thickness of  the cowling gills

It's a stalwart is'nt it?

However, its a kit that is showing its age, thick glazing that does not fit too well, next to no interior, suspect cowling and float shape and size, raised panel lines, et al.

I have the Octopus original which this new kit is based on and its a quantum leap better than the Airfix kit, despite it being a short run IJ kit. If Pavla are going to add further improvements as suggested. Airfix can safely retire thier moulds.

Pity about the RAAF one. Check the discussion here.......

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/72nd_aircraft/kp-kovozavody-prostejov-news-and-questions-t4608-s220.html

Scroll down to Feb 10 2017 and note that some of it is from 2012!

In case the embedded link does not open, here it is. HMAS Wyatt Earp's Kingfisher is yellow.

Judgement is suspended on the actual decals until they are actually seen.

But, see below...............

Its a pity that Attack Squadron P6 catapult is no longer available.  I have a vague memory White Ensign may have produced one too, can anyone confirm?

Yes, lots of photoetching stuff, I have one.

One of ”mad” Pete’s mastercrafts, a bit flimsy though.

Thanks for confirming that, despite my request I  think I may have one. For the reasons you highlighted I just filed it and forgot about it.

The Attack Sqaudron kit was a little more robust and it been in my pending pile along with the Octopus Kingfisher. I'll wait for this revised edition now.

Still, the most attractive to me US WWII scheme for Kingfisher, that one from I think  USS Detroit (Aleutian Island area) is not in box... (there is vertical white strip on rudder, but are they also on tailplane?):

I have had a quick look at both and as commented the resin has been replaced by plastic. The AZ kit is much cleaner with less flash and less DIY where the Pavla kit expected you to make bits up from stretched spure. Pavla kits always gave me the feeling of being a bit 'clunky', at least the Typhoon which I finished about four years ago needed a lot of work especially on the wings.
