Doug
Hi all, I am trying to produce some decals for a French Mirage IIIC, I have searched many web pages but can not find a clear photo of the French text stencil that sits behind the main canopy. I am specifically looking for the French text version that is placed upon the red panel behind said canopy. Please does anyone have a photo or knows what the stencil actually says? just in case I haven;'t made it clear which stencil I'm looking for please see picture below: Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Doug.
Sebastien
Hi, I'd wager the stencil says something like "POUR LIBERER LE PILOTE BRISER LA GLACE" (to release the pilot break window). Cheers, S.
tempestfan
Sébastien seems to be very close, at least for the first line - see this pin-sharp pic in an old HyperScale review.
Sebastien
I've asked a friend of mine who's an expert of everything Armée de l'Air, I should have the answer tonight. Cheers, S.
Parabat
"POUR LIBERER LES PILOTES 1. BRISIER LA GLACE 2. TIRER L'ANNEAU" From a Mirage F-1; Mirage 2000;
tempestfan
Are the F.1 and 2000 are the B variety (or D/N for the 2000), as both read "les pilotes", hinting on a twin seater ? As the IIIC is single seat, it would likely read "le pilote", as the stencil in the review pic indeed does.
Parabat
Yes, both dual seaters, so single would be, as you say, le pilote.
