Marlin
Hi., I'm starting a new build. This time it'll be a German Eurofighter Typhoon from JG74 I'll be using Revells kit in 1/48 My Typhoon will be armed with four Amraams and four IRIS-T. This is what I have to work with. DAG058
Plenty of stencils on that sheet!
Marlin
Yes, but not all of them will be used. The english stencils will go to the spare parts box. /Bosse
Biggles87
I have one of these so I will be I interested to see how it develops. You probably already know about the bad intake fit, how are you planning to fix it? I bought a set of Olimp Resin seamless intakes for mine, but I don't they will make much of an improvement, and the instructions are not very helpful either. Good luck John Edited October 26, 2015 by Biggles87

Marlin
Thanks guys. I'll try and use the kits intake. I know to expect some troubles, but I'll take it slow and see what happens. /Bosse

Marlin
Thanks Guy. I've done some work on the kit. I'll post some pictures of it tomorrow. /Bosse
Mike
I was wondering how you were going to tackle the intakes too. The kit parts are about half depth, and there's a sweep up and back down again to clear the landing gear bay before you get to the engine fronts. I did look into doing something about this once upon a time, but gave up, as the close proximity of the outer skin and the gear bay makes it quite a task. Your best bet is to fabricate some intake blanks, either the solid ones, or fabric ones lashed to points on the fuselage, whichever the Luftwaffle use on theirs
Marlin
Thanks Mike. We'll see what solution I'll do. /Bosse

Marlin
Hi, My Typhoon build progresses rather well. I've painted the cockpit and glued it to the fuselage. The fuselage halves had to be cleaned up a bit in the tail. I had som four or five ejection marks that had to be sanded down. When this was done I could glue the halves together, This time I only glued the front ends together and let i set. The I did the tail and when that had set i did the back section. I've done things a little different from the instructions. I glued the spine section to the fuselage before I put the wings on it. I believe I'll have a more stronger joint this way. To be contiuned.... /Bosse
RMP2
Re FOD/intake covers, Im pretty sure this is a German aircraft going by the fuselage number visible:
Marlin
Thanks RMP2 Indeed it is. It's even from JG74, the same Staffeln as my build. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Finally Saturday and so that I can have some buidltime. I continuing with my EF Typhoon. The airintake is very complicated and almost impossible to get ride of all the seams. So FOD guards will be added later. I've also glued the underside to the fuselage. It's only glued in the front at the moment. I'll work my way aft when the glue has set. To be continued... /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. At last I've got something to show you. Last weekend we spent in the cottage to celebrate the first of Advent. Or as my youngest son likes to call it, Fake Christmas. First some moulded wine -- Glögg in Swedish. And some saffron "Semla" And for dinner a complete traditional swedish christmas table. And if it's called Fake Christmas, we also hade some fake presents, We've got IKEA's version of the Death Star for the cottage. Rather nice I think. And as my own present. I got the very nice Revell Typhoon Bronze Tiger in 1/144. Box content. And during the week I've been busy building up the little brother Typhoon as a compainon to my original build. [/url And the big brother is now ready for some clear coat. To be continued.... /Bosse
RMP2
Cheese, beer and lighter gas - thats a good night is that. The Eurofighter looks much bigger than 1/144, (those pegs look huuuuge!) must be a nice kit and well put together. Id never considered that scale before... hmmm. Marlin
Thanks RMP2 I'm amazed over the quality and level of detail on this very small aircraft. And since they cost almost nothing I can definitly say, I'll will get some more little gems from Revell. /Bosse
