Radpoe Spitfire
Having finally seen one, I'd like to ask, would it be worth it for Airfix to do it in 1/32 scale? It seems a real shame that to date this scale has not been used by the company for any aircraft kit. Yes I know they have what is still a very good kit in 1/24, but if they can upsize kits like the Defiant to 1/48 then the possibility is there for 1/32 kits. Other than Revell no other major kit manufacturer have released a Hurricane in this scale, but I'm sure if airfix did, it would sell very well. So what do you think? colin
Airfix don't seem interested in doing 1/32 for some reason,
Graham Boak
Haven't they specifically excluded making models in this scale, which is rather stronger than just "not interested"? I think they do aircraft kits in quite enough scales. I'd sooner see a return to classic Airfix scales such as 1/144 airliners, 1/600 ships and 1/76 Army vehicles, not that I have any expectation of the first two and precious little of the third. tonyot
Yes it is a brilliant idea!!! But as already said, Airfix just don`t do 1/32nd aeroplanes,..tanks yes, aeroplanes,..no! I have a feeling that the next Tamiya 1/32nd scale fighter will be a Hurricane Mk.I,...but that is just my opinion,.......I want them to do one but could I afford one? FLY Models are releasing a 32nd scale Hurricane Mk.IIc. Cheers Tony Edited October 20, 2015 by tonyot
keith in the uk
I have just finished the Revell 1.32nd MK1 .Hurricane using all the upgrades from Grey Matters ( pics up soon ) With lots of work and a ton of money this .kit can be made into a decent looking Hurricane. The only other option. at present is the PCM kit, along with the Revell kit seems to be getting hard to find ( No doubt .because of the Grey Matters sets selling well ) As Tony mentions above Fly are due to release a MK2C .Hurricane soon which will make life much easier than converting the Revell kit. , however this still leaves us .without a decent MK1 IN 1.32.nd .scale so until Tamiya or Revell release a state of the art kit we are still left with the PCM or the Revell kits if you can find one.
