Foghorn Leghorn
Who would have thought we'd get a 72nd Argosy?! The price could make your eyes water though ...
dwh
Who would have thought we'd get a 72nd Argosy?! The price could make your eyes water though ... Might not be too bad considering the old vacform kits have asking prices of around the £80 mark, and that is not just ebay prices, kit dealers at model shows are asking for this price. sinnerboy
ooo nice find, the "Flying t*t".... mind you Mach 2 kits do have a bit of a reputation, never built one but apparently they make FM kits seem like Tamigawa! BTW Magna Models make or made a resin one in 72nd
Albeback52
ooo nice find, the "Flying t*t".... mind you Mach 2 kits do have a bit of a reputation, never built one but apparently they make FM kits seem like Tamigawa! BTW Magna Models make or made a resin one in 72nd I have built two. Or, to be accurate, beat them into submission. Copious amounts of Jura 10 year old malt helped ease the pain! At least I did not have to reach for the Prozac! Not fun. However, as this seems to be the only chance of getting an Argosy IM kit....................................!!!! Old foxtrot
Oh man I gotta get me one of those, I remember the RAF scrapping a couple of them at Cosford back in 1989. I was lucky enough to ger a control yoke and radar set out of one, donated the radar to a local museum still got the yoke.

Colin @ Freightdog Models
I heard they had some new for Telford that was a British suibject, didn't think it would be an Argosy though, nice! Colin
viscount806x
Yes... But Mach 2 kits... V.P. We can only hope that they have taken the necessary time with the kit. I'm trying desperately here to be positive. You see my forum title above? Well I love the Viscount and models of it but sold on both my Mach2 Viscounts in total despondency. New day, new start? Fingers crossed!
bentwaters81tfw
Having built the Valium Valiant as an introduction (what a pig) I managed the B-45 with little of a fight, so I'm game. Just look at Radders with this Savages. Patience, skill a little effort and lots of sanding and filler. Proper modelling. There's harder battles on this forum at present than a Mach 2. Thanks mate, as you say just some time, skill madness, etc and they can be made into half decent looking kits... I'm working through a second Savage for a chap in America so mine has slowed down but once the second is at the painting stage I shall paint the two together... I laugh at the comments about Mach2 kits etc, it's just plastic...should be no need to be scared of it. Also, put me down for a Mach2 Argosy! did they whistle? one of the nicknames apart from the "flying t**" was the "whistling Wheelbarrow" Rolls Royce Darts had a unique sound to them... check this out, you can hear it more on the landing.
keefr22
did they whistle? one of the nicknames apart from the "flying t**" was the "whistling Wheelbarrow" I've always known it as the 'whistling t*t'.... 1/72 injection Argosy....wonderful.
