1/48 - Lockheed U-2A/C Dragon Lady by Hypersonic Models - in project

(...)

And the story doesnt stop there I have a U-2A/C kit planned (most likely a multi-option kit). Extensive research and measuring has already taken place at Duxford (but is still continuing in other parts of the world) and as soon as Telford is over Ill start drawing. I do have other kits planned (all 1:48), but dont want to reveal anything else just yet.

The unfortunate episode with the T-33 has of course thrown me back a few weeks and has put a sizable dent into my budget (the cost of the 3D scan). Had I heard even the smallest rumour that GWH were making one I would have concentrated all efforts on the SR-71... (See BM Forum http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234990411-148-lockheed-sr-71-blackbird-by-hypersonic-models-in-progress/ ) But thats hopefully just a small cough at the beginning of this new chapter. Onwards and upwards.

Cheers!

Jeffrey you're a :mike:

Wrong scale... let's hope they make a 72nd version as well... there's nothing available in that scale, at least the 48th scale folks have the Italeri kit. Yes, I know it's not really a U-2, but still.

1/48 is the perfect scale for this.....the Italeri kit is hopeless (and anyway it's a TR-1).

I won't actually mind if you do it in 1/72 also, but do the 1/48 one first!

Thanks...just to clarify, I'll do the early, "small" U-2 (A and C with all the different types of intakes, spines and exhausts, coolers etc.), NOT the large TR-1/U-2R/U-2S type.

Cheers

Jeffrey
