1/48 - Yakovlev Yak-130 "Mitten" by Trumpeter ? (ex Ark Models project) - CADs+test shot - release in 2018

Ark Models is to release in February 2016 a 1/48th Yakovlev Yak-130 "Mitten" kit - ref.AK480??

CAD's are reported nearly OK - with the support of Yakovlev company - and first moulds/test shots should be on display at Moscow's DichShow in November 2015.

I think the two designs (Yak-130 Mitten & Alenia M346 Maestro) have diverged too much to be able to make one from the other.

Strange to think this airframe could be chosen as the USAF T38 replacement! Its a funny old world.

The Amodel kit is the prototype.

of course they are different to justify seperate kits!

but, airframe shapewise it is only details, not general difference i think!

(landing gear, airbrake, aux intakes, pylons, cockpit of course, etc.are totally different!)

What I see doesn't look like a plastic kit build but more like rapid-prototype build. I'm not sure the actual kit is going to be released soon.

I guess the actual kit will be based on the same CAD data, maybe with refinement and some changes still possible!
