Airfix 1/72 Avro Shackleton WIP - Finished !

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, Update time again.

So had a good decaling session today, have done a fair amount of main decals and stencils, still have a good deal more to go, I got a Club meet on Wednesday and my aim is to have the kit finished by then, I'll have a couple of hours tomorrow and a few hours in the evening to finish the decals, I'm not happy with my prop decals, I am starting to wish I painted them, I will have to do some painting on them due to gabs on the sides of the props.

Anyway, here are a few pictures

There is some odd colour issues with the decals, as most of the stencil data is yellow, yet on the markings sheet they appear to be red

Excellent (and fast) work! Whilst on another thread on this site they discuss how many angels can dance on the head of the new Revell AEW.2 (which looks very nice and I fully intend on purchasing, by the way - the AEW.2, not the angels), it's nice to see the Airfix kit being built. I have one, I think its a lovely kit, and I've just started with the parts cleanup. Your build is an inspiration for me to get cracking on with mine.

Regards,

Jason

Thanks for the comments everyone. Stayed up till gone midnight tonight to get these decals finished, which I have done about 10 minutes ago, I've painted the last few small parts that require painting, going to leave the decals to dry tonight add the small parts and semi gloss cote the kit, then we'll be done, need to finish this for Wednesday night as we have our clubs annual competition which I'm hoping to enter this into along with some of my other good work this year.

Next pictures will be of the finished model

This looks brilliant and is the same scheme that I`ll be doing,.....I`ve wanted to build a Shack bearing `White Knuckle Airlines' titles for years!

Cannot wait to see it finished,

Cheers

Tony
