Gimme Shelter
Hi The Gokstad is finally complete (phew) WIP thread here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234983261-gokstad-viking-long-boat-update-11-the-sea-storm/ The book cover that inspired the diorama: Sending a very big thank you to all on the forum who offered help, advice and tips such as the use of the rock boulder anchor correction and better ideas for making the sail instead of the vac-form kit sail - this is what you helped me produce. The diorama: Please don't ask why only one side of the sail has stripes...lets just say the Vikings were unaware of double sided silk screen printing yet in those days Thanks again to all those who offered help and for your interest in this subject. beefy66
Stunning work Sir the first photo of the bow of the ship cutting it,s way through the rough sea captures the look of the book cover spot on And the tutorial you have over in the diorama section on using thin plastic from a food container to shape and form some of your waves is now well and truly nicked and in my tips and tricks book for future reference Cheers. If this Diorama does not get you anything when entered into a competition the judges want shooting mate Again you should be well Chuffed with this one. Gimme Shelter
Gents Thanks so very much for the kind words above which made all the effort worth while. I took the build down to my local IPMS club at Farnborough on Monday night and it won best in class against itself as the club members had not entered and other boats or ships into this months competition. The gang at Farnborough are a really nice bunch - very friendly and very helpful.

Nocoolname
Superb! I'd love to do a sail based ship but feel intimidated by the rigging I think the seas scape is fantastic, hoping to learn to do something similiar for my ship kits - when I get round to making them . Cheers for now!
