Hello one and all,

Welcome to my first ever post in the Armour section... please be kind to me!! Some of you may or may not know that I am building a few models for a lady at my school. She has asked for a "duck" and offered to buy me the Airfix version. I am not having much fun with Airfix models of late (their armour) so I went for this one instead. If anyone is interested I am building an M4 Crab, Halftrack, Churchill III, Grant, PzIII and a Panther as well, I can put pictures up if anyone would like. Here is the sprues and lovely box art for this build.

Being British I am going for the top version. :)

I am really thinking of getting another and making the Iwo Jima version, it appeals.

You also get some kind of wargaming book with it, I am not sure what this is really about.

Typically in proper fashion for me, I have not got any photos of where I am upto... bloody hell... I have made a start on the duck, only glued the chassis together. More pictures too follow soon...

Kind Regards,

Dazz

I managed to get some time in the Mancave on Friday while waiting for SWMBO to come home. This time I remembered to take some photos of the bloody thing... so what I have done thus far.

Here we have the main chassis of the vehicle, you have to glue the sidewalls to the bottom. In typical fashion with this kind of set up, I found that the fit needed some work. So I had to glue it piece by piece.

The main cab and loading bay area, I am sure it has a really funky and clever name, but I'll be damned if I know what it is. All the classic moulded on tools and such making an appearance.

Close up of the cab area, the backs of the seats needed to be glued, but the instructions are not too clear on where they are supposed to go. So I just glued the bugger where it is.

The windscreen has been put on as has the splash plate thing at the front. One of the arms for the splash plate is too small to be fitted correctly so I have just bodged it really.

Where I am upto now with the side panels of the cargo bay area. The fit isn't actually too bad with these. More or less a snap fit.. either that or I have broken something, most likely. All the fiddly lights and what not have been fitted too, all I have left to do is the side windows and she'll be ready for some paint. Hopefully not too long...

Kind Regards,

Dazz

Nice progress, looks like an interesting project.

Thank you Blitz23. I am hoping to get her done soon, altho I might have cocked up with the paint. I left the lid off the Olive Drab for a few days. I am hoping it hasn't dried out yet... :/

Italeri did a range of vehicles which were designed as a tie in to small scale wargaming

I do see these around sometimes, don't think I know anyone who plays these kind of games... oh well :)

Kind Regards,

Dazz
