a quick read of the list, can't see it, given Airfix have been making over British classic in 1/48th, maybe the next flagship kit,

whose only competition is 40 year old kit with plenty of errors and still has a £100 + OOB price, but which evidently still sells because it's the only option.

Even priced the same as Tamiya, it would sell. Crikey, they sold 1/24th Mosquito's and Typhoons so it's not that improbable.

If they want to throw a 1/48th Lanc into the mix am sure we can look at 1/48th manchester and Lincoln conversions!!!

Given that (and I think I've mentioned this before) a number of Corgi model themes often have made their way across the Hornby divide into Airfix, then maybe a Sunderland and a Vulcan would not be too wide of the mark?

looking back on my own predictions for Airfix's next 1/24, I had thought a re-tooled Hurricane or a Hawker Sea fury likely, but the more I think about it the more I think it will be a P40! Especially given the fact it's getting the 1/48 treatment

I do think that the next 1/24 kit will be a Chipmunk, numerous marking options. For many people the only military aircraft they have flown in plus many civilian versions too. The tooling would be relatively easy and there would be plenty of aircraft still around to Lidar.

Quite right, nor a Stirling either.

'Predictions' invariably end up as Wish Lists, usually a decade's worth, and with no thought that any other Manufacturers exist. Don't 'predict' Soviet types from Airfix. Yes I know they re-tooled the MiG-15, but that's the exception that proves the rule: look to the several eastern bloc kit makers.

Incidentally there's a 'Wish List' section on this site under the 'Forum' heading! Not many people (seem to) know that. Last posting was September and that was for (I think) a tank.

I would welcome a new bunch of 1/72 DH Mosquitos.

I know that both Hasegawa and Tamiya have this type in their catalogue;

the Hasegawa kit is outdated in detail and doesn't fit very well (split canopies! engine parts!).

Tamiya kits are great, but sometimes difficult to get.

None of both have a Mk.XXX in their catalogue.

And the Mosquito is one of the iconic british aircraft, so why leave it to the guys from far east?

Having given it long and serious thought, I have concluded that they will do a DHC-6 Twin Otter, mainly because I have a number of them on the go at the moment from the old Matchbox (Revell re-issue) kit. There are plenty around to Lidar, and they have been in use in a whole raft of liveries.
