It'll be cheaper from Lucky Model, time it right and get a couple when they have the $2 surface shipping offer, I reckon you're looking at about £220 for two... :boxing:

I'll be buying two. One RN, one Grey/Green Camo and then I can use my Tamiya -J for a later all over grey build. UK Phantom family shelf, done!

As long as you avoid customs charges  It seems to be quite random if you get nailed or not atm, customs on £220 of stuff could make quite a dent.

Just set you preferences accordingly, and add an appropriate note in the order instruction... :police:

But will they do that, and the size of the box is going to raise an eyebrow at customs, big box and it's under the £15 threshold :ninja::hmmm:

Nope , Jennings over on LSP is working on the project and basically its still in development and there isn't likely to be much in the way of updates before the end of the year

Thanks for that. At least it sounds as if the project's moving along.

I see HK Models have updated their site to show Phantom FGR.2 XV474 'T' at Duxford... Just before Telford?  Hopefully some progress is being made now!

Let's hope so.  I just bought the new magazine British Phantoms too which will be handy.

I was getting excited there....... It does state 'expected 2017' so with that and with no verbal updates from HK Models, I still think we might be waiting a while yet.

Rumour has it that the bloke doing the CAD stepped away a few months ago and so the project is in temporary limbo.

The wait till it's perfect brigade are either young enough to be able to wait, or are eternal optimists.

My uninformed guess, and it's just that, is that it will be released in its shiny box vista 2020.

That box top is taken from Robert Taylor's "Phantom Launch" - number 376 of 850 - is on the wall of my study/library/computer room/model workshop - all 6 foot by 10 foot of it! 😉

That artwork appeared on the Aviation Megastore website about a year or two ago, even before any basic CAD work was done! The project has been in (slow) progress since 2015:

BTW, the dimensions and the parts count on the 'boxart' are those for their Meteor F4. I don't think HKM have completed the initial CAD design of the external surfaces let alone the parts layout.

Also lots of discussion on LSP:

It was mentioned somewhere that this will be fully revisited after their Lancaster BI/III is released. Given that pictures of the Lancaster test shots have only recently appeared, we're probably looking at 2020 at the earliest before the Spey Phantom is likely to be on sale; plenty of time to save up. :) If it's as good as the Lanc looks to be, it'll be a cracking kit.

The hobby industry doesn’t know what they are missing. A Brit Phantom will sell.

They're all much too busy turning out kits of badly-needed, hitherto neglected subjects like Spitfires, Bf 109s, P-51s and Fw 190s..... 🙂

It seems to have dropped off their projected list.
