gunpowder17
The X-wing is the Spitfire if the SW and the Y-wing is the Hurricane , at least in my mind! The Y wing is bigger and more rugged the X-wing , but not loved as much. Personally its my favourite ship. Bandai have done such an amazing job on this one. The detail is mind blowing. I did my usual Y-wing paintjob on this. White primer followed by a black wash , then an overspray with my own white grey mix. It was then weathered by airbrush with my own dirt mix. Not only did Bandai do great work on the models but on the Deathstar bases too. I love it.

gunpowder17
Thanks Guys. Photographing these things is a nightmare. The flash washes out the weathering so i had to do it with no flash. I ended up using my phone. Im sure our Nikon D50 could have done it if i new how to use it properly! Gimme Shelter
Impressive work there - photo's have come out just fine. You've hit the nail on the head referring to the Y-wing as the alternative to a Hurricane. I'm guessing that makes a Tie fighter the equivalent of a ME109 and a Tie Interceptor a FW190. And then there's the AT-AT as a possible Tiger II !!! great work - thanks for sharing Edited September 30, 2015 by Gimme Shelter
Andy Moore
Brilliant build and you're right, it's an amazing kit. You've done a superb job on the weathering. Lets hope they do a B and A Wing to complete the set. Andy
