1/32 - Dassault Mirage IIIE/R/RD/O by Italeri (& Revell boxing) - released - M5/50 & Nesher conv sets & decals by Antarki in August 2019

Recommended Posts

A close inspection from the soon to be released 1/32nd Italeri's Mirage IIIC sprues pics (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234975571-132-dassault-mirage-iiic-by-italeri-box-artdecals-release-late-september-early-october/?p=2112443) show clearly the typical MIIIE wheel brakes as an option. A new variant in view? Time will tell.

Bring it on , we've been told that Kinetic are doing the E, Italeri were pretty quick off the mark in modifying their 104 from a G into a C , so hopefully the same will be true for the Mirage

I heard a rumor that Italeri and Kinetic are working together on this one to produce a series, Anyone else?

IAF Desert camo , complete with the The Yellow/Black recognition panels.

I may be wrong here but, I thought Israel operated the Mirage IIIC, not the IIIE? I know they also operated the Mirage V though

they operated the III C & R and 5 , based on the E , which begat the Nesher , and with the help of the J-79 begat the Kifir

They didn't operate the IIIR, but a specific recce version of the IIIC, with no specific designation. Two aircraft in fact, with the possibility to fit different recce nose, as well as the usual IIICJ nose...without radar.

Anyone know if some of the Swiss specific mods are included? Thinking of doing a IIIRS like this  :

Were it not for the Kinetic 1/48 model, even considering the limited space available at home, I would have gotten me one of these :thumbsup2:

They did operate the C but...

they operated the III C & R and 5 , based on the E , which begat the Nesher , and with the help of the J-79 begat the Kifir

...the R and 5 were based on the E which is a fish of a different kind to the C. You don't get an E by merely changing the exhaust on a C and vise-versa, the E (and R and 5), have a different fuselage length compared to the C, you can see this by the relative position of the intakes to the cockpit for the different marks, the intakes on the C start about halfway along the canopy hood whilst the E/R/5 start behind the canopy hood, see here for a comparison...

 Thanks Colin.! I hereby stand corrected!

Hopefully you've got the idea now?

Rumors say French craft company Renaissance Models (http://www.renaissance-models.com/ter/index.php/avions-toutes-echelles/echelle-1-32) is working on a resin conversion set (+ decals) to convert the Italeri MIIIE/R kit into a Belgian Air Force Mirage Dassault/SABCA Mirage 5BA.

To be followed.
