Russian Spitfire by my 6 yeah old girl

Recommended Posts

great work, I've done some Zvezda clip together Disney Cars and Planes with my daughter, which are really well engineered kits and produce a very good result fast for anyone who might like a good starter kit BTW.

she's nearly 5 so not quite got the patience for glue as yet, though I maybe being a little too careful, though I have the very old tool Airfix Spitfire IX and I have told her about pink FR Spitfires so that will get done, the pastel coloured PR Spitfires maybe good for young ladies I think, just being a little more eyecatching.

Not suggesting that a girls will automatically want pink, but the 'pink' thing is hard to get away from, and could be an interesting 'hook'

That said I have been working on a Airfix 1/72 Spitfire, and she did sit and watch, and I showed her the cockpit, and then a photo which made sense, then showed her the endplates of "Spitfire - The History" which has lots of colour profiles which seemed interested her.

cheers

Wish I could spray that well! What a great result for a 6 year old.

I remember the first kit I actually painted more than the bombs, tyres and propellers was the Airfix Swordfish, and most of that was white plastic - I was nearly ten at the time.

Regards,

Adrian

Brilliant job, what a great result! The young lady's airbrushing is terrific!

Talking of pink aeroplanes, my daughters one & only model, built around the same age, was a bright pink & lime green Tucano! Unfortunately she found horse riding more interesting - & if anyone thinks modelling is expensive.....!!

Wow, that's really good for a six year old! Yes, I do wish more youngsters would join the hobby. Glad to say I'm one of the youngsters! I'm not very young, nearing my teenage years, but I love anything having to do with WWII.

What a top job! Good choice of colours, they look like camouflage to me. I had to wait until I was 16 before I used an airbrush.

My daughters want to have a go too, so when I found a Spitfire kit in the charity shop for 50p I thought they could build it. I'll post it when they finish it.

Cheers,

Ian
