thepureness
Being that I wanted to get my children into making models I let my 6 year old have a go at building a spitfire (while supervised) and she would like to share her finished model No spray booth so respirator my be used not the correct colours but I left her choose what she thought the colours where and she broke a few decals Our hobby really needs youngsters to take up the hobby, so hopefully she'll be one more
Sgeek
A lovely build. Congratulations to your daughter. There is, kicking around in my memory, some photos on the net of a pink and grey camo spitfire model. Let the imagination loose :-)

WildeSau75
Very nice job young Lady - great paint job! I need to confess - my models I build at the age of 12 looked much worse than her first try. Keep 'em coming! You have it! Cheers, Michael
Ragtag
Can't argue with that effort - I still haven't progressed beyond hairy sticks and rattle cans.

Ace From Outer Space
Excellent work young lady! In fact, you are beter wih the airbrush than I am. Now am I the only one to notice that bad bad daddy has chained his display cabinet closed? Seriously, this is great! My son has just turned three and he loves sitting with me when I get the odd chance to make a model. In fact, he is one of the reasons I have switched to larger scale planes because he can engage with what they are better than with a smaller scale model. Can't wait for the little dude to make a model for himself! Cheers Viv

John Laidlaw
That is a really lovely start, and to me that third photo says it all - she's so proud, and she should be!

rob85
Bless her. My 5 year old daughter has shown an interest in the planes and building them, I was thinking of letting her have a crack. She has done a great job, love the pic of her poised with the AB Rob
steelpillow
Wow! At the age of six I used to get glue EVERYWHERE! Sometimes even on the model! Mmm, how about a 1:24 Hughes HK-1 Spruce Goose next? The model would be a lot bigger than the modeller, methinks.

thepureness
In regards to glue, she was supervised and twice I had to tell her off for smelling it. But she has a very steady hand and I was pointing to the spots to show her where to put the glue. The undersides are a different story but she did an amazing job airbrushing. I did control the psi for her
TinVin
Nice job! Good to see the next generation modelling and she can help you in later years with your models when your hands aren't as steady and your eyes aren't good as they used to be

Knight_Flyer
Certainly is a lot better than the models I built as a kid. Very sure none of them could fly if scaled up due to the thick coats of paint I put on them.

prowler0000
Glad to see the face-mask.... But just as glad to see a brilliant result by her!!!! My Grand-daughter has just started building planes, too. She's done the new Airfix Skyhawk & an old Italeri Kfir is next up. On a personal level, it's nice to spend time with em while they get involved, isn't it...?
Bob Henry
I'm sure that it was a great experience for both of you. That is truly time well spent. Bob H.
F1xena
Well done to you and your daughter! There never seem to be enough girls involved in the hobby, so it's great to see one being encouraged at such a young age. I was inspired into the hobby by my father, so great to see you doing the same. Bit jealous about having access to an airbrush as a beginner.....it was brush marks all round for all of my early kits, except for the pre coloured Matchbox ones which "didn't need painting", of course!
