plastic-stasher
Are there any after-market resin or photo-etch parts which are really recommended for this kit, or is it good enough out of the box? If any resin parts are really beneficial, are they an easy fit? Derek
Gary West
Straight out of the box is fine you might want a resin bang seat maybe - cockpits are available in resin but the office is so small, I dont think it necessary.
Shaun
The Aires exhausts are very nice, their wheel bays are also great for detail but a real pain to fit into the narrow wings. Quickboost do a nice resin seat complete with straps Shaun.
plastic-stasher
Thank you gents. I did wonder about the cockpit. I know there are resin replacements available, but I did wonder if they would be worth the effort and expense. The exhausts and ejecion seat sound a good idea though. Don McIntyre
Cutting Edge did a nice resin cockpit for it, but they go for outrageous amounts of money on eBay.
HOUSTON
Derek, I wonder if AIRSCALE has PE for your build? you need to check his web site just in case he has gotten any P.E.
Darth Vader
I'd just replace the seat for a resin one, it's one of airfix s best.
mcdonnell
Hello,PlasticStasher - Good luck with your Lightning build.I added a home-made Cockpit Access Ladder as an extra detail.I made it with a very discreet wire hook which rests on the side of the cockpit sill. This way, you're not drilling holes in the fuselage and if you wish to remove it,simply lift it off.A little food of thought for you,I hope. All the best,Paul.
