Got my grubby hands on a couple of them.

Actually one of the kits was a price handed out by one of the sellers at the competition.

it looks really good. Many of the faults on the previous releases have been corrected and the Sk specific parts looks to be all there and correct in shape.

My hat's of to SH for listening to the public and taking in the feedback and correcting accordingly.

Is it possible to build an JA or a AJ out of this box?  I'm asking because it's so tempting with the upgraded parts...

All the parts to make an AJ or SH are I the box.

The JA specific parts are not included, like the canon pod and the fuselage extension plug. But the corrected fin for the Sk is the same as used on the JA.

Correction: the fuselage extension IS included, but NOT the gun pod.

One annoying this regarding the kit, but the under wing Jamming pods, U95 ECM's pictured on the box art are missing and not included

I'm trying to understand what comes in the box of this kit.

Can any versions be built from the box other than the SK37? (Excluding decals, which I can always get from elsewhere I imagine.)

Cheers

It's not possible build the fighter JA37, there are no one of the specific parts for this version, but we can build any other type, IIRC👍

Thanks. But just be clear, an AJ37 can be built, right?

Cheers

Yes, the AJ can be built.

You can build the SK, AJ and SH versions from this kit.

The JA and SF specific parts are not included.

Very tempted to get one of these to go with my JA, as Johan points out it seems that most of the problems have been addressed, which is excellent news and while it looks a very comprehensive package I'm also tempted to get hold of the CMK bits...feel a splinter camo coming on!

So parts tree "M" corrects the horizontal and cannards of the AJ as well? It would be great if SH made this parts tree available for those of us who already have bought the older AJ boxings.

The rumor has it that SH plans to release the corrected sprue as a separate part only as well.

That would be a good thing from their part me thinks.

  • Homebee changed the title to 1/48 - Saab Sk 37E Stör-Viggen (two seats & EW variant) by Special Hobby - released - new Sk 37 trainer boxing in 2023

Will be interesting to see if the differences in the rear cockpit between the SK 37E electronic warfare version and the SK 37 trainer have been catered for or is it the same plastic with different decals only.

Yes, they appearently thought about that. Different IP will be in the box as color PE. It also says the 72nd and 48th releases will have the same markings and boxart.

Yes, but this is the 72nd scale version. I think 48th will be next month or later.
