The first thing that hit me is how they have totally screwed up the air intakes under the belly.
The Sk 37 has got two inlets, much like the prototypes. And what really can't be seen in the pictures it also has a different (bigger) ventral fin than other versions.

Hope that they fix that before it's released.

Is this OK?

Thanks Homebee.

That confirms that the ventral fin is wrong as well. It's bigger and has a different profile on the real thing.

I'm ignoring the fact that the builder has added the JA 37 only 4th activator for the control surfaces.

hmmm not too good of a record!

it seems that the canard flaps were not chnaged either... the were are already incorrect shapewise int he 2 previous releases!

some re-tooling would have been good!!

Apart from what is already mentioned: The periscopes between the front and rear cockpits are missing. And the glass-part in the front part of the rear canopy is opaque.

And the camouflage and markings are also out of the blue - but a bit easier to correct. :)

Special Hobby

Thanks for your comment. The model of the twin-seater which you can see on the photos has been built using standard single-seater kit parts plus the “conversion” injected parts for the Sk 37 version. It was meant to serve us as a kind of “test-built” to see the fit of the parts is okay. This model hasn´t been released yet and we will be very happy to receive more “hints and tips” from you so that we will be able to tune up the model and get rid of any similar trouble spots. Please send your comments to our e-mail: [email protected]

Thank you!

Had a chat with the chaps from Special Hobby last weekend during their visit to the C4-Open show in Malmo and asked them what's going on with the 1/48 Sk 37 Viggen.

They confirmed that they are retooling the forms to fix the mayor faults with the kit and address the Sk 37 specific changes needed.

They are hoping for a release of the kit the first quarter next year.

Nice box art.

The first thing I noticed is that it depicts the SK 37E electronic warfare version.

Hopefully you can make a standard SK 37 as well.

There is not that big difference between them though, the SK 37E have the added antenna on the spine and a different IP in the rear cockpit plus the line on the nose.

They have really done their homework. I see parts that been asked for in previous boxings.
